Apparently, on Whirlpool’s newest washers, every part that’s in it is different and no vender sells them, all say the part has been discontinued, and many of the new model numbers, no result shows up. I wouldn’t recommend Whirlpool anymore, everything they make now is junk. Not only is Whirlpool pricing parts through the roof, but they are also making them NOT available for newest units.

I looked at stuff for the newest VMWs with the bigger drum, and everything was different, the gearcase, drain pump, you name it. The only same parts in those relative were the splutch and motor, but everything else was different, and the new part numbers for the gearcase, suspension rods, and drain pump were NLA.

Instead of Whirlpool fixing the control board issue on the six light models (which has been a major issue with those since 2023), revising the model numbers, and using a different brand transducer, they decided it was better for them to stop making them altogether and make models with NO available parts, everything on the newest designs are NLA, meaning if any part wears out pretty much, you have to buy a new one. The Amana NTW4516FW is discontinued, I think the WTW4955HW, WTW4950HW, WTW4850HW, and WTW4855HW is also being discontinued. I think the WTW4957PW and NTW4519JW will be discontinued soon.

Well, I hope parts will be available for those in the future.

And I’d recommend if someone still wants Whirlpool, they get one of the older model numbers still in production (e.g. MVW7232HW), or other models where it’s easy to find parts.

Models like the WTW4100SW have NO parts available, so if it’s defective you have to dispose of it, and Whirlpool doesn’t seem to carry parts for it either.

Some of these models have been out since early 2025, and parts are still not available. I think Whirlpool just wants people to keep buying washers so they can make money, instead of replace a part.

It’s even easier to find parts for Insignia washers now than the latest Whirlpools.

Yes, they are brand new models, some are as old as June 2025. Still with unavailable parts, saw a review on Maytag’s official website saying their new VMAX was defective and they needed a new washer because the part that failed was NLA.

Also, I just found a refurbished RWTW5010LW apparently listed. Refurbished? Does that mean Whirlpool is selling used appliances on their site now?

Whirlpool at this point is declining just as badly as Maytag did in the early 2000s. I wouldn’t be surprised if Whirlpool goes bankrupt in a few years from now.

Refurbished might mean a return.
Whirlpool does do direct B2C now, and you can't really sell an opened return on a big appliance without checking it.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Whirlpool went bankrupt in a few years, all the new Whirlpool laundry applianced are terrible, except for maybe their dryers. The state of Whirlpool right now reminds me of the state of Maytag in the early 2000s.

Not sure about the kitchen appliances, I have all Whirlpool in my house but they are older.

In a perfect world Whirlpool would be able to re-release the direct drive built in quality and they would become the #1 appliance manufacturer again.
My washer and dryer are from 2014, my oven is from 2014, and my fridge is from 2016. I plan on replacing the washer soon since the bearings are out in it. My washer still continues to work, it’s just loud.

I'm not trying to defend Whirlpool, but commonly replaced parts for the WTW4100SW, such as the water valve, door latch assembly, suspension rods, shift actuator, belt, drain pump, motor and capacitor are all still available. (Most of the parts I mentioned have new part numbers that they sub to.) The control board is still available although out of stock like most WP washer control boards. The gearcase is the only major part that I could find that is NLA.

I order parts for an appliance repair company and Whirlpool parts are still very inexpensive when compared to parts from LG and Samsung. I would not say that Whirlpool parts are "through the roof."

Our technicians have started soldering ADP51B62M02 pressure sensors on defective WP washer control boards to get our customers up and running rather than wait indefinitely for WP to restock their control boards. These sensors generally cost around $25 or less.

I just heard on the radio news, that Whirlpool will be returning it's manufacturing back to the USA, and supposedly creating jobs for 800 employees.
That's certainly a good thing to happen here, and maybe other manufacturers will follow.
The one thing though that I'd be concerned about, is if manufactured here in the USA, are the components also made here without the outsourcing being involved?
It's pretty much known that the quality and durability of outsourced products are prone to having issues due to poor quality control or cheapening built in.

Yeah, you can make a product here, but if you install questionable parts, it doesn't mean much to boost your reputation.

So they do allow refurbished appliances
I don't believe this is anything new. I could be mistaken but I think that they have had closeout and refurbished section on their site somewhere for years now. I remember browsing it in 2023. Why is this such a big deal? Selling refurbished items and returns is common in all industries.

Second, it's not uncommon for brand new items to be available for sale before replacement parts available... If you go buy a new M5 Macbook this month, you'll probably be similarly disappointed that parts are not going to be immediately available for it in Apple's Self Service Repair store.

The WTW4100SW uses a different gearcase, suspension, and drain pump, and all are listed as NLA. I can’t find parts for the latest VMAX’s yet, and some are not even labeled “new”.

It’s been a few months since they were out, and there are still no readily available parts of them.

Whirlpool maybe should’ve put a water level option on their cheap Amana and the six light Whirlpools, and fix the control board issue.

I don’t recommend new Whirlpool washers anymore, but if anyone is getting one I always tell them to get a VMAX these days, and a VMAX that’s one of the models that’s been out since 2020-2023 (such as MVW7232HW). Note: While H means a model was released in 2018, but that model was actually released in late 2019. Same goes for the commercial MVWP586GW, the G means 2017, but the model was released in 2023. I never seen a MVW7232 with a 2018 serial number, however, models like the WTW4955HW, did come out in 2018. Sometimes Whirlpool model numbers are confusing.

I’d recommend something used and something that was made before 2020 if someone is buying a Whirlpool.

Whirlpool has been worsening since the direct drive was discontinued, the older Cabrio designs (pre-2015), were good machines but they didn’t have very good bearings and seals do they often wore out. I wish Whirlpool used better quality bearings on those. The bearings Whirlpool put on their older Cabrios were junk and would often fail within a year or use. The older VMW’s had issues with the bearings too, but they tended to last a bit longer than the bearings on the older Cabrios. Bearing failures on washers only really became an issue in the 1990s, with the Norge built units, the GE Model-Ts, and even Speed Queens being prone.

My favorite VMWs are those with the agitator and water level sensor, tho the washplate ones from that time weren’t too bad (I own a washplate model), but if you’re buying one of those used you MUST check the suspension rods, the suspension rods go on those all the time and the machine will shake all over the place.

The older VMWs were prone to bearing issues, but my Whirlpool lasted a long time before the bearings went out. My washer has only started getting noisy like 10 or 11 months ago or so, and my washer is 11 years old. I’m seeing newer whirlpools with bad bearings, and it seems to mainly occur on the big tub VMWs (the 4.5 to 4.8 cu ft machines), and the VMAX units.

The splutch and the shifter are common issues with VMWs, as well as the suspension rods. Suspension rod failure seems especially common on the 4.2 to 4.3 cu ft models, as well as any porcelain tub model, and on the 4.2 to 4.3 models, oftentimes, the basket bushing is also worn out.

The older VMW’s often lasted around 7-12 years if maintained, tho they definitely weren’t as good as direct drives that typically last 15-35 years, you find a lot of them used on Facebook marketplace and many are in good condition.

Obviously, you won’t see many 1987 direct drives anymore. Even the best washers break down eventually, washing machines are kind of like cars, they do break down eventually, even the best ones.

Some of the models with no replaceable parts have been out since 2024.
Can you give me an example model number?

I took one of the ones in your first post and was able to find parts for it. I took the parts diagram and threw the control board number into google where there were results.
