Whirlpool's TL Washer with Lid Controls

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

I wonder if LG is moving away from these?

Following the LG, but a bit behind? Kenmore offered an LG version in their Elite line but that seems to have disappeared from their website (Kenmore.com) and from stores as well. When I was at Sears this morning, there were only a scant few LG built top-load washers left under the KM brand. Our big local dealer has only the front/lid control LG models "on order" now when they had three models on the floor a few weeks ago.

They are attractive and I've been watching them for a while now. I like how they make the machine look a teeny bit more vintage. Sort of, if you squint.

Not crazy about the front lid controls, but the fact that they put the dispensers back the way they were on the previous gen Cabrios excites me! The drawers just felt cheap, and I haven't been a fan of them on any washer. They belong on front loaders, not top loaders.

I'd imagine this means they'll be changing that on their normal Cabrios as well? I would hope so.

I wonder if the thing at 10 o'clock is now where the recirculator spray is.

I had the LG WT1101CW and it was the best top loader I ever had. Howevrr,a friend here,Dick, owns a Goat Dairy Farm and we met a decade ago when he and his son in law bought two hundred gallons of propane each month for their farm. I ran into him at Kaiser Permanenty clinic and he asked me about the new top loading washers. I told him I had the new LG and loved it. He said he wad real happy with their home set which is the LG TROMM front loading steam set in blue. I invited him over and he bought it,hands down. A few days later, he came over with a case of goat cheeses and told me he was so happy with his new top loader. He bought it to install in the business to sanitize their cheese cloth. Their water is solar heated to boiling and the direct drive Whirlpools just couldn't handle the hot,hot water. They nerd to stop using plastic plates becaise they wear from the metal snaps, buttons and zippers then fray the fabrics. Stainless steel won't do that. The LG also FILLS UP TO THE RIM on cycles like heavy and bulky. You may have, either a deep rinse or a spray, fill partially then drain as fresh water comes in and the tub rotates slowly to thoroughly rinse residue off the fabrics.

30 Day Dispensing

So it does have this built in. That is interesting and explains the abandoning of the drawer and the 180 rotation for the spray port.
