White Goods Become Smart Goods?

Well, I was hoping it meant a return to smart styling in appliances, like Frigidaire's "Sheer Look", but alas it just means more computer control . . . I don't care about the IQ of a new appliance, I just want it to look as good as my turquoise '67 Frigidaire Imperial bottom mount frig with dual foot pedals, or a Control Tower washer & dryer set. Now those are smart!

Dual Foot Pedals . . .

The left pedal is for the upper door (refrigerator), while the right pedal is for the lower door (freezer). They are both mounted on the right side of the refrigerator since it has a left-hinged door. Of course, you can always open the door the conventional way by pulling directly on the hidden pull at the side of the door, but it's nice to know that you have options!

Awhile back I saw one of the Pictures of the Day with a Speed Queen dryer which looked like it had a foot pedal . . . I was so jealous at the thought of having yet another pedal to push.

That's cool! I've seen a fair number of units that had pedals for the freezer doors, but never for both. Frigidaire, Speed Queen, GE, and perhaps some other dryers also had them. Great idea for both applications and it's too bad they're no longer used.

Kenmore rules supreme

The BEST looking newcomers are the HE5t's with their huge doors with the faux chrome around them. The Pacific Blue ones are PURDY.

They have "Sanitary" so dumbed down water controls are no issue.

Gas and brake...

Rick, you are cracking me up! I also understand that there is a hand control as well; known
as the "California Howdy"! ;-)
