Who made this Crosley set and opinions about Crosley

Hi again,

I recently moved again for another internship (This would likely be my last one). This is the set that I'm using for the year. I've never really heard of Crosley until now, maybe I have before but I just don't remember. I've done a little research, turns out they are manufactured by two of my most favorite appliance companies of all time, Whirlpool and Frigidaire. But, I'm curious to know about who actually made this particular set? I typed up the model number of the dryer and unfortunately nothing came up. I'd assume the washer would likely get the same results.

So far it's been about a week that I've used this, here are my thoughts so far. They seem basic to me for a frontloader which I like, it wouldn't make sense for me to have something with features that I would hardly use. They both wash and dry really good so far. And I like that I don't need to bend over while loading and unloading from the dryer. The only downfall so far is the height of the washer. Have the same issue with the Duet that I've used a couple years ago but I think I can get used to it again. One thing I'm trying to figure out is how the Options Select feature works. I couldn't find the manual for this so I will continue to research. Anyways, it's too early for me to tell but so far I'm liking both of these. Are there some things that I should get tips on or to watch out for with this set?

Another thing that I would like to ask is what are your overall thoughts, opinions, or experiences with Crosley? Is the company really good? Would it be better to buy a Whirlpool or Frigidaire branded set instead of Crosley? Were there any lawsuits that have happened with Crosley before? And what kind of cleaners should I use to get rid of smells inside of front load washers should mold ever get inside? Thanks!

These look more like they were produced by Frigidaire/Electrolux.

That set is Frigidaire/Electrolux.

The topload sets are still Whirlpool built. GE/Haier recently started building kitchen pieces for Crosley. They are sold exclusively to servicing dealers and have better warranty than the basic manufacturer's models they replace. We've sold Crosley for about 30 years and they've been very good to us.

By their website it looks like right now they carry a mix of GE/Haier, Whirlpool, and Frigidaire/Electrolux, as well as a three rack dishwasher I don't recognize. The Crosley-labelled Maytag Neptune was well known to some members on this site a few years back.

I think that 3 rack machine "Crosley Professional" is from GE.

That would definitely make sense. I didn't know GE/Haier had entered the 3-rack ring, I'll have to check them out.

The zdm6502as Professional isn't GE;

I'm under the impression that it's a Samsung based on the little red "Orbitwash" spinner in the back corner. Haven't actually seen one in person yet.

That Professional model could be Samsung, but it could also be Haier or some other Chinese producer based upon the racks themselves.

Update

So far it's been almost 3 months since I've used both of these. Overall they've both been still good as far as performance goes. However though, there's already been an issue with the washer. Most of the time the time just freezes whenever there's a load in and it just keeps cycling non stop. It won't unlock the door if you cancel the wash. And the thing just smells horrible like the drainage pipe all the sudden clogged up. We just replaced the drain pump but that didn't solve the rest of the problem. Finally they've decided that they're replacing the washer with a new one. It's going to get picked up tomorrow, I don't know if it's going to be the same one or not but I'll keep this posted to see what it'll be.

Anyways the past couple days I've been temporary using this vintage Speed Queen set until our washer problem gets fixed. Since it's only been a couple times that I've used these and it's likely the only time I ever got to use them, all I can say is that they're just like the ones that I've used a couple years ago which is good. I wouldn't mind owning a Speed Queen set since I hear they're one of the best on the market and I have nothing but positive results with them. I understand they're not cheap but if it's something that's worth an extra mile for, then I'll consider looking into them.

Fridges were Frigidaire, Currently ge. Same for stoves. Laundry top load is whirlpool, front load was Frigidaire, is ge. Dishwasher was (still is?) midea

Eugene (lorainfurniture) tested the Conservator-branded top-loader and was pleasantly surprised by the results despite its anemic build-quality. Can be had for around $350.

Originally, I had asked (in reply #13) if embedding a video at AW would rob his view-count at YouTube. Eugene responded to that question. I edited reply #13, deleting my question and embedding his video on the Conservator, a brand featured at the Crosley website.

Some friends of the family have an Amana branded version of this Crosley Conservator in the video and despite my reservations when I first saw it, I've been quite impressed with the performance overall.  No complaints from the owners and while it may not be really long-lived for a family of three, it's likely to give every penny's worth of the $349 purchase price.

I’ll let you guys in on a secret

I wanted to start a bit of a video series on YouTube by running a washer until it broke. I have a customer that runs a massage parlor. This lady trashed a speed queen front loader in just about 2 years. Each machine gets 10 loads a day seven days a week. All towels and bedsheets. I figured the cheap conservator would be in and out in a month or two. I dropped it off September of 2018 and it still hasn’t broke yet.

I run a window business and clean a few sport clips in town. (Haircut) I always go by the washers and dryers because they want their window cleaned in the back. So far the whirlpool brand front loaders are out in 3 years or so. One particular place has the Maytag version of the conservator. 6 years and still running. Another place had an LG front load and still going. I assume it’s 10 years old based on looking at it.
