Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I'm confident this is a Wards machine.  The panel looks a lot like its predecessors made by Norge when Norge was still Norge.

Maybe toward the end of the line they decided to drop the Montgomery Ward badging, assuming that if people were inside a Wards store and purchasing a Signature, they knew what they were getting into.

Yep,

Wards did the 2000 branding like RCA was doing in the late 80's with their Colortrak 2000 line of Televisions. Pontiac also had a 1982 2000 J car, then added the 2000 Sunbird name in 1984.

2000, as in, not a chance in hell of surviving until then.....

then again, this one is still in decent condition, and for sale...

although, that agitator was the best for this Franklin tranny, it allowed for more rollover as it didn't drag as much causing the tub to index too fast....

Right,

but my 1987 RCA Colotrak 2000 26 inch stereo monitor receive did. It still works.
The start up circuit had to be repaired in 1999, but no other problems. We don't really watch it anymore.

RCA had the 2000 (or Two Thousand) back in the late 1960s. I used to have a Colortrack 2000 which my parents bought when I was 8 in 1985, they later gave it to me and I gave it to friends about 10-12 years ago. Their kids used it for video games.

Here are some pics of the 1969 Two Thousand.

The 1982-'83

Pontiac 2000 sales lagged behind Cavalier sales, so they added Sunbird to the name because the old rear drive Sunbird sold very well. By 1985, the 2000 name was gone altogether.
