Why do allot of you on here prefer tide plus bleach powder? And another thing, some of you seem opposed by liquid detergents, why? they always clean my colours and don't leave the little white lint on darks like powder does, I prefer liquid because I was always told it dissolves better and doesn't leave any residue....so please tell me why powder is better and how much I should use to avoid residue, because I just bought a box of tide plus bleach today and would like to know how to use it best, though it doesn't really matter for me because it isn't often I get stains on my clothes anyway but I don't want residue, and I hate rinsing twice because my washer is old and if you use it for too long while its constantly going the agitator will start knocking, which is another thing I won't have to deal with much longer as im getting a different newer machine.

Well, for me, TWB works best at getting out tough stains,of commonly available detergents, and I like the scent better than regular Tide powder and MUCH better than liquid Tide.

It is expensive and I don't use it on lightly soiled clothing.  I use it with hot or warm water. I've never had any white residue problems on colored shirts with warm water, so I can't help you there.

Now I do it diffrently

I love Tide with Bleach but I only use it on whites because it has faded some of my colors. But it is the best on whites don't even need chlorine Bleach. The way that I have always used powder Tide and powder is mostly what I use but how is use it I have never had an issue with streaks. I start my washer( a top load Speed Queen ) then put in my Tide regular or with bleach let it fill a .25 inch up and then add my clothes. The reason that I went back to powder is that a Sears repairman told me that the liquids contained oil that did not break down and made a scum on the outer plastic tub and it would mildew and cause odors I had some friends that there washer started to smell and when they changed from liquid to powder then the odor went away> I know that others will disagree but this is my opionion and what works for me.
