Will GE get it right with "Right Height" new laundry pair?

Capacities are huge but will GE get their act together now that they are building these machines here in the USA?
The controls do look quite busy for this first US made by GE brand.

I remember reading in a previous post that these machines are "assembled" in the USA,implies to me that some parts are outsourced. I do love the look of these sets though.

on both of them look far, far too complicated. I'd be very nervous if I had to use them without the Use and Care Guide.

I give GE props for clearly identifying on their website which models are USA made. That's a big deal to me, and the other major brands don't seem to do it.

You're correct.

I'm a country of origin nerd, so I can pass on a little info.

The phrase "made in the USA" or phrases meaning the same thing are pretty highly regulated by the FTC. For an item to be labeled "made in the USA," it has to be "all or virtually all" USA made. So even a small amount of non-US content means they can't label it "USA made" without violating the rules.

The phrase "assembled in the USA" does not have the same regulations. In a machine as large and complex as a modern washer, I'm not surprised there's at least some imported content. For many large, complex items, "assembled in the USA" is about the best you can get.

Select/alter the:

- soil level/temperature/spin and rinse details....

Press start.

...and I bet it defaults to a given soil/temperature/spin and rinse anyway....

What's complex about that?

I am more interested in the behavior of the reverse tumbling in the dryer. As in, how often does the reversing occur and is it towards the end of the cycle or throughout?
