So, after Wisk was brought up in the Watered Down Tide thread, I was thinking of trying it so I bought some today. I got the Fresh Breeze scent. I actually quite like it. Found it at Walmart for $8.49 I believe plus a $2 off coupon. Got the 66 load bottle for under $7 with tax. That was the largest size offered. It works very good. It got automotive grease out of a pair of jeans without a trace of it left. And everything smells so much fresher. There were a few complaints on the Wisk website about the scent being too powerful, they must have used too much. It leaves a light scent that to me isn't overbearing. I've been using Sears Ultra Plus with Oxy for a while and although I love how it cleans, it never really got strong odors out. I do my own car maintenance to I can end up a sweaty, stinky mess. There was no hint of B/O at all left after using Wisk. I hate to say it, as much as I love my powders, I may have found me a new detergent. And at almost half the price of Tide for the same size bottle. I recommend it!

...or more likely didn't rinse enough. It's become the norm for washers to spit on the load and call it rinsed.

As far as 'better than Tide' I have to agree. Proctology & Grumble today is less about research/formulation and more about making you buy a half dozen products to do one job.
 
I must ask, who manufactures this detergent?

 

I'm trying to figure out if there is an Australian equivalent - this sounds like a good deal :)
 
I've been impressed with Wisk, too. I haven't tested the liquid vs. pod version---I'm guessing the liquid may take the checkered flag between the two---but the pod has done well with everything I've thrown at it.

Great to see more converts to this sometimes overlooked top-drawer detergent! The reformulation it received a couple of years ago pushed it into the top ranks.
 
Hi Vern

Did you use the Wisk by itself! Or are you still spiking with White King water softener?
Remember that you were liking the W.K with ALL free n clear.
 
I'm a strict Wisk user here myself. I just stocked up in 11 of the 66 load bottles over a month long sale at Shop N Save.
I but the original scent, I've always been very satisfied with it's cleaning and moreso deodorizing abilities.
Sometimes my gym clothes sit 2 weeks before I wash them and they never have that foul odor that other detergents left
 
Stan, I did use the White King with my whites and light colored clothes due to the hard water here, and how could I forget? :) My dark clothes and jeans were detergent only. And I wasn't using it with All free and clear, I was using it with Gain and Sears Ultra Plus. I may not need the White King anymore since the Wisk tackled my grease stained jeans with no problem and my dark clothes came out just as clean and fresh smelling. I'm going to try it on my steam mop pads today.

I'm still giving each load a little jiggle of W.K regardless LOL
 
I have tried Wisk

Both in liquid and the packs.

The liquid, and I did not think I overdosed, was a little sudsy. A Friend of mine from work said the same thing.

The packs work wonderfully, and no suds issues at all.

Cleaning is good, but I will admit I pre-treat when daughter has been playing or "falls" in the mud. Oxi-clean spray pre-treat is wonderful with any detergent.

I still use Tide for most things. I found a 180 load box at Sam's that I use for most things, and Tide Free & Clear for much of the rest.

I also recently bought All Free & Clear packs and I won't say I am totally impressed, but it didn't do that badly either.
 
Yeah, I horned in on your thread! Sorry. Still have the same box of All because I've been using a lot of vintage detergents (Cold Power is really good!)

On the topic of Wisk, I've used the unscented version and liked it. It was just one of those things about the directions not differentiating between dosages for regular TL and HE machines.
 
A couple of years ago I tried Wisk and found it to be too sudsy in the front loader. However, I purchased another bottle in the last month, and they seem to have licked the suds problem. At least, in our washer with our water, it now works well.

SuperSuds, so it was you then that got me to try out the All Free n Clear!
 
I used a little less than the recommended amount on the loads I used the White King with. There was some sudsing but no where near excessive. The rinse water in all the loads were clear maybe a couple of bubbles. And I used top loading Whirlpool direct drives. Hot water on all but the dark clothes, I wash those in warm. I can't wait to wash again lol. Next time I'm not going to use White King and see how the results are. I was going to do my steam mop pads but never got the chance to.

You might try Chemist Warehouse if you have any near where you live, they are stocking the U.S. version of Surf again and it seems to be one of Sun's brands as well.
Also they are stocking the U.S. liquid Ajax and I have also seen the U.S. liquid Dynamo, didn't buy any though, I have got 3 boxes of Spree and a box of Biozet to try.

I'll have to look into the Chemist Warehouse - see if they do online stuff (as it doesn't help living out of the way!).

 

Is the U.S. version of Surf any better/worse than ours... I know the Aussie version is quite pungent - spending more than a couple of minutes near the stuff in the detergent aisle will fumigate one away (from the intense odour and oncoming headache!). 

 

 
 
Talking seriously, does anyone know where I could find some surf citrus breeze for retail sale online?
I have seen it sold all over the internet and especially amazon for awhile and then nothing....only wholesalers who wants you to order a pallet for 1000bucks...
Why?
I am quite satisfied with Sun company Surf products, but of course nothing beats the old Lever one...
 
U.S. Surf

I have tried the U.S. Surf quite a while ago,it works pretty well and does not have an overpowering scent from memory.
I know what you mean about the Aussie Surf, you would think they were marketing women's perfume with the exotic fragrances it comes in and Fab is the same.

I have noticed that the US Surf fragrances have been ramped up as well. I used to occasionally use the Spring Burst fragrance as it seemed to have the most vintage smell and was definitely NOT overpowering. Unfortunately, whatever they did to make the fragrance more long lasting now has altered the fragrance completely. I ended up using it on four or five loads then gave the entire 120 load box away. It smells nothing like the old Spring Burst and left a horrible overpowering scent even on line dried items.
 
What is it with these long-lasting detergent fragrances, anyway? I washed my comforter using a Gain pod (Moonlight Breeze scent) two weeks ago and the fragrance--which I have long since tired of--is still prominent! No more Gain pods for me.

Wisk pods, on the other hand, clean very well and leave a light scent that dissipates quickly. Wisk does a great job, as advertised, at removing body oils. They are my go-to pod for loads of bed linens.
