A local restaurant had a great cake a few days ago, called a Hershey Bar cake, I found the recipe and to my surprise it was based on a mix...Now to those who dont know me, I usually make everything from scratch. This was so good and so easy I couldnt believe it..so here it is.
Hershey Bar cake
1 box Duncan Hines Swiss Chocolate Cake Mix.
1 small box instant vanilla pudding.
3 eggs
1 1/2 cups milk
1 cup oil.
Mix at low speed until blended, then beat at medium speed two or three minutes.
Bake at 325 in 3 9 inch pans 25 minutes or until done.
Frosting
1 8 oz pkg cream cheese softened
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup powdered sugar
1 12 oz container cool whip
Mix cream cheese with sugars, beat well, add cool whip, beat well, Frost cooled cake and Grate 2 to 3 chilled Hershey bars onto surface of frosting, chill.

Charles,

I made the Almond Joy Cake yesterday afternoon as we had friends coming over last evening, and it was a smash hit.  I mentioned it to my cousin's wife at church yesterday morning, and she was salivating just thinking about it.  Thanks for a delicious addition to my recipe files.  I will definitely make this one again!

Thanks for these. YUM!!

I love the Almond Joy Cake recipe, but my other half hates coconut. Could it work without it, or maybe with a replacement?

It would be alright without the coconut.  I have made it without the almonds before so without coconut should be fine.   Like a Mallo Cup.
