The amount I put is about a shot glass. Probably the same amount my Duet front load bleach dispenser holds, which isn't much. It doesn't take much bleach for anything, if you have the good stuff. You would think it would cause the enzymes not to work. My only guess is that since I do it at the start of the cycle, it's diluted by the first fill, then drained. By the time the main wash starts, most of it's gone and the finish powerball drops out. I don't pre-rinse and I haven't noticed the enzymes not working because of this. But the dishwasher has a much more clean smell at the end than if just using detergent alone. It also helps stains that need to be bleached.
