Worst Bleach EVER!

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Dishwasher

The amount I put is about a shot glass. Probably the same amount my Duet front load bleach dispenser holds, which isn't much. It doesn't take much bleach for anything, if you have the good stuff. You would think it would cause the enzymes not to work. My only guess is that since I do it at the start of the cycle, it's diluted by the first fill, then drained. By the time the main wash starts, most of it's gone and the finish powerball drops out. I don't pre-rinse and I haven't noticed the enzymes not working because of this. But the dishwasher has a much more clean smell at the end than if just using detergent alone. It also helps stains that need to be bleached.

I agree on bleach and dishwashers - about 20 years ago, I

started throwing a bleach tablet in the pre-wash/first wash cycle. It makes a gigantic difference and is gone before the enzymatic cleaners are dispensed for the second wash.

And, Laundress, I agree - this hysteria about chlorine bleach is ridiculous.
