thanks everyone!
wow, november 1960! just love finding out the production dates on these machines, i was in kindergarden as it was being built. it was election month for john kennedy! mom had just bought our house in norwood we moved into in may 1960! it cost $15,000! marilyn monroe had just finished 'the misfits' her last film. she was divorcing arthur miller at that time.
mike your video is great! i put it in my favorites. your's looks just like mine (almost).
appnut, thanks for the info, that silverware basket trivia is great!
bajaespuma, thanks for the info! mine does not have the power shower feature but 1960 sounds good to me! interesting about the detergent cup too! the golden anniversary line! love it!
that is wild about my racks not being original. to think they replaced racks on this machine means they really cared for it! it just adds to the uniqueness!
this is truly a great find, i'm not bragging, i feel very lucky or blessed to have it come my way! to think it could have ended up in the trash after all those summers on that lake erie island! and i love lake erie after all my years of working at cedar point and living in sandusky! this was meant to be!
another question please! mike you probably know. that baffle thing in the bottom of the tub at center back, behind impeller, stainless steel. it is called a water vane in my g.e. repair manual. what does it do? keep the water from swirling around too much? and why is it needed?
also i checked my g.e. repair master and it lists the model i have in a schematic breakdown as being the 1952-1957 top loading model. i wonder why the dates are wrong here?
not that it matters, you guys answered my question on it's age, i have found these repair master books to be innacurate before. but looking at the schematic i also see it shows the power shower dvice that i don't have on mine either, again not that it matters. this little dishwasher is great just as it is!
