Help Support :

I've always dreamt of top loading dishwasher

just like this one I had the opportunity to try before the restoration, brought here to me from a friend which is very similar to your.
It's an Indesit P6, with a 4blades impeller and with an'internal boiler usefull to the last rins sanycycle (I suppose for reaching 120°C).

Here the video I took when the machine was my home and the link to the others taken when he found the machine.

Pete,

The November 1960 date is the date on the parts sheet - very similar to your example above. I do not know for sure when your machine was built - this is just an indication of approximate age.

The GE Parts sheets that I have for the first SP30/SP31 models, depict the narrower silverwear basket like in my SP40 model. Later versions of the SP30/SP31 show a different silverwear basket.

The racks that are in your machine look like those depicted in the Power Shower models. I will not dispute that the racks might have been replaced, but I also can not rule out the possibility that some of the last SP30/31 models might have had the white racks as original - based on all of the parts listings I am looking at.

I remember reading or hearing somewhere here recently that the metal baffle in the bottom of the tub was for directing dirty water and food particles towards the pump/sump area. Remember that the motor reverses during pump-out. This would make sense to me - the impeller is sloshing water around as the pump is activated - thus the baffle is directing the last of the water towards the sump.

thanks

mike that makes sense to me, knew it had something to do with water diversion. idea must work cause it drains great and i love that little purge at the end of the drains.

aldspinboy, i am so caught up in the fun of this little impeller machine i am using it everyday, at least for now. nothing really heavy like pots and pans, just cups and bowls and plates. i will say it does a great job, especially with silverware which surprises me!

vivalalavatrace, enjoyed your video, top loaders are my favorite style of dishwasher! that one in your video really moves the water. would love to see pics of what the water heater looks like. never seen a dishwasher with an internal
water boiler on it!
