Justin, I don't think it will take long for a turquoise cooktop to turn up in your area, but I also realize that now that you're pursuing one, they may all go into hiding for a while and every other imaginable color will show up instead.

Also:

If the Turquoise proves elusive, don't forget that brushed chrome/stainless goes with any color. The kitchen designer who did my St. Charles kitchen many years ago liked to use brushed chrome cooktops, because everyone wanted gas ones, which are expensive to replace. He said that the brushed chrome would let his clients change color on other appliances without having to go through the drama of replacing the gas cooktop.

rp2813: It does appear that when you are not looking for something, you find them all the time, but when you are looking for something, it never seems to show up.

Sandy: I know where a G.E. brushed chrome cooktop is located for only $25. I may purchase it and use it.

sorry I couldn't help out with some better prices and as others say, they come along when you're not needing them or short on funds....good luck countryford. Personaly, the last unit that was a Hotpoint brushed stainless appealed to me, but the "Price is Wrong"

Good one and

Great price, Justin! There's a woman who can do that inexpensively - forget her name, but many here know about her. As she travels, she picks these up and on her way to one long destination, I think it's how she does it, she'll drop off whatever appliances and things that come up along her route(s).

Someone will know who I'm talking about - sorry I forgot.

Phil

I did have one shipped from the midwest to Vermont with UPS or FedEx recently (I can't remember which) and it wasn't very expensive.

Just make sure that the seller is careful with the way it's packaged as UPS and FedEx can be rough with packages. Mine arrived with no damage!

I came across another one, too, this morning searching for vintage ge stoves, but can't find the link now. You have choices there, anyways, so hope someone can help you out.

Justin, here's the one you want:

a pic I got from eBay... it's long gone, but here's the thing: I have a mint Hotpoint turquoise cooktop, but missing all the controls, burners etc, in other words just the turquoise metal panel part, but if you can find one in any color, you can have mine for free ie: for cost of shipping. I've saved this for 10 years. If you can find a Hotpoint of this type in another color with the push button controls between the front burners you can convert it to turquoise color and I'd be glad to see it go to a good home:
