answer from seller
When I questioned the seller on the determination of the starting price, this is the answer I got back - proving once again, there's one born every minute...and hopefully they'll find this auction.
"Thank you very much for your question. Well lets say that we find tomorrow an old Chrysler from 1963 with 250,000 miles on the meter. It is rusty, the frame is not so good either, the interior is burned by the sun, wore by the years, and so on. On the other side, you go saturday in the country side and find the same car in an old barn but in an immaculate condition: 1,200 miles on the meter, the body as shining as if it just came out from the dealer, the interior still smelling as new, and so on. Everything has a price. Something easy to find and worn-out can sell for less than $20.00. That's true indeed. Something impossible to find in an almost new condition has also its price. Maybe $900.00 or even more. It is the law of Supply and Demand. In a way, I am simply giving someone out there an opportunity to buy a piece of the Past. If you are a fan of Star Trek (the first episodes produced in the sixties) you surely remember the epiosde The City on the Edge of Forever. In this very episode, Kirk and its friends time-travel to the 1930' with the help of the time guardian. We are on eBay. You can find almost anything on eBay. So is there anybody out there who would like to go to 1981 ? Have a nice weekend !"
