So as some of you remember I needed to find a belt-drive Whirlpool or Kenmore for parts for my 1957 Lady Kenmore. Well this little gem showed up on Craigslist and I grabbed it for $25. He's not even gonna make it to the basement, he's gonna get raped for parts right outside here on the side of the garage. But he will make for a beautiful lady.

Oh and I found another washer beauty at the Estate Sales today! While its a bit newer for my tastes, it was in near mint condition and it will be fun to play with for a little bit. I'm going back to the sale tomorrow to pick it up! Yay, I'll post pictures when I get him home.

But first he's the parts machine...

Cool washer!

Too bad it's going for parts... I really hope your restoration goes well, as I'm sure it will.

There's that Silver Flute Again

I think I'll have to move to Minnesota to find some gems like you do Robert. Where did you buy that flute ?????? There is next to nothing like that here in Massachusetts. Rather not in my area. You're amazing.

Nice old WP you found Robert. Hope the centre post is ok in this machine, so you are able to revive your beautiful Lady K.
This machine looks pretty clean, but lots of parts can be saved from this old machine for later use, so it's not a bad thing to part it out. I know that I will be saving more parts from the next older belt drive that I find to salvage. The timer included, since you showed us how to perform timer repairs.

Very Nice Find Robert!!!
Looks to be a great parts candidate.
Can't wait to hear about your other find. I am sure it is in just as nice shape!
Thanks for sharing!

Gorgeous washer Robert.

My aunt had a similar one in Coppertone. Hers had that exact console light, and if I remember correctly the same cycle setup. The water temperature selector on hers was located at the far left, where the Whirlpool label is on this washer, and it was a series of buttons. The agitator on hers was either white or blue.

Have a good one,
James

Lawdy, there were a lot of those Supreme 80's around Atlanta back in the late sixties.A great workhorse, I sure it will make a good donor.

Now, on to the intrigue of the one you haven't shown yet-------

Hmm, is that some sort of a date on the transmission...because I would have thought this slightly later than 1966..I have a distinct memory of my grandmother getting the matching dryer when I was 4 or so...she got rid of her 1948 Kenmore washer for a Maytag (black agitator, standard capacity) about the same time....

The gas dryer had the big drop-down door, no push-to-start switch. In its mid-life, my grandfather had to file the ignitor every year or so...one year he bought the service contract in order to get a new ignitor module installed :). Both washer and dryer lasted until the house was demolished in 1994.

WP

You should at least do a load in the WP before you mutilate him for parts. I'm sure I'll have me a few parts KM/WP's to keep my 800 going.

Nah, he's not gonna make it to the basement, if it was a Migic-Mix filter machine I would be tempted to try it.

Now on to moving my new playtoy into the basement.
