How cool is that, it already has the light inside. Did you know this before you bought it. Looks to be in great shape!!

Hi Terry, nope I had no idea, it was a total surprise. Although I'm trying to remember exactly where but I think I remember reading somewhere about an Dish-a-Matic with an interior light.

Very Nice Robert!
It is in amazing shape! So clean! It does look different from your other Apex, but I can't tell the differences on the cabinet. I could not find your pictures that you have of your other Apex.
Love the light! Do you know if the light stays on while running? That would have been a big selling feature for me back then!
Are you going to put wheels on it so it can be your 4th dishwasher in your kitchen? I think you should!
Thanks for the pictures!
Brent

Congratulations!!

Wow! That is an amazing find - I know you're going to enjoy it! What year would this model have been made? Is is still in working condition or will it need a recon like your other Apex??
All the best with your new treasure!!

Robert, Congratulations. This is older than your other Dish-A-Matic, right, the one with vinyl racks? Does it have one or two rinses? Are those iron stains or rust?

Dish-A-Matic, a machine that does all of your dishing for you. That would take a lot of joy out of life for many of us. I'll stick to doing my own. A tongue is the only instrument that gets sharper with use.

Where is the snow? I know Minneaplois has snow now, but I heard the Weather Channel say last week, I think, that Minneapolis was having rain. Isn't that pretty rare in the Winter?

Hi Brent, I know right! The light is totally cool, who cares that it takes up space for large dishes, lol, I love that. Apex sounds like they had some fun engineers. From the timer cams it appears that the light is meant to run when the dishwasher is on.

Here is the link to pictures my other original standard model Apex.

Hey Paul, like most machines of this age its going to need to be taken apart and given a going over to make it work like its new again. Its from 1948 or 1949.

Hi Tom, this is the same age as my other Dish-a-Matic, its just the top of the line version. It has the same cycle, one wash, one rinse. Those are iron stains that I can get out pretty easily.

We have about 6" of snow cover now, we've had snow cover since December 1st which is normal. They talked of possibily getting warm enough one day last week for rain, but that is very rare in January. This is the first winter in 4 winters that we are actually having an average winter and not an above normal temperature winter, and a big yay for that finally.

Robert,
You MUST be excited about the TOL model since when you took the picture of the BOL Apex, you peed on the floor.(Refrence the photo link) I shudder to think what you did in front of the Glass top model!

One question about YouCrate. When you put a machine into one of their crates, does it have to be strapped down to the skid? What prevents the machine from sliding around inside the crate?

Would that machine have a gravity drain or pump drain ?
Its a gravity drain, but I might rig up a drain pump in this machine. Whenever the motor is turning the impeller drops down and pushes a sealing disk down against the bottom of the tank to see off the drain hole from tank.

When you put a machine into one of their crates, does it have to be strapped down to the skid?
Not sure, this one wasn't tied down, but it was covered with a big rubber blanket to protect it.

So Robert......

Have you been playing with your new Window Deluxe Apex?
Keep us informed.....
I am sure you have been busy with other projects.
I still think you need to put wheels on this one, and use it as your 4th dishwasher in your kitchen.

Have you been playing with your new Window Deluxe Apex?
Hi Brent, yeah, I've been working on the 1956 Hotpoint, it developed its first real issue since its restoration and I also have been wanting to do some tweeks to it. Its almost done now and I'm happy to report that its working better than it ever has in the past. So once that is completed I will start working on the Dish-a-matic.
