1) "Dominic the Donkey"

2) Mariah Scarey warbling "All I want for Christmas is You" (that girl couldn't hold a note without glissing up and down if she tried)

3) Willy Nelson "singing" (???) "Pretty Paper"

Whaddya think? Who made your list?

Chuck

Chuck... LOL!!!

I gotta agree with you on Mariah... screeching WENCH!

add to that John Lennon's "So this is Christmas"

and "I saw Mommy kissing Santa Clause"

My new car has Sirius Satellite radio, I've been listening to "Classical Christmas" on POPs channel 86...now there is some good music!

It's funny how people elicit different reactions; Some find Bing Crosby as soothing and comfortable as a well-worn sweatshirt---the vocal equivalent of comfort food; others find him creepy. Guess that's what makes the world go 'round, as they say.

Most annoying for me: Christmas carols 'sung' by meowing cats and barking dogs.

I agree with my woman friend

on this one" "What Are You Doing New Year's Eve."

I am also a little over "Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer,"

and If I hear "Merry Christmas from The Family" one more time!!!!!!!!!

Lawrence/Maytagbear

Here are mine:

1. The Twelve Days of Christmas (just plain irritating)

2. Oh Christmas Tree

3. White Christmas (ok when sung by Rosie or Bing, but usually performed with all the pizzazz of a funeral dirge)

The top three

1. "The Christmas Shoes" by Newsong. If I hear that damn song again, it will be too soon.

2. "Pretty Paper" by Roy Orbison or Willie Nelson.

3. "Santa Baby" by Madonna. Ugh.

The rest of it's all good.

Santa Clause coming to town by Michael Jackson.
Ruldoph the red nose by Anybody.
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow........by Anybody.

I have to push that SH_T for a living and after all is done, mounds of trash has to be picked up.
Working 12 hour days will put you in the mood for a bullet to the radio for that song "Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!"

And don't get me started on those Christmas trees!

Now back to our calming music Hark the Herald Angel sing.....

I can't stand "It's the most wonderful time of the year": The line "There'll be scary ghost stories and tales of the glories of Christmases, long long ago" is so stupid. Why would there be scary ghost stories about Christmas? And what's so glorious about it? I think some lyricist was in a rush when they wrote that.

I also detest "Grandma got ran over by a reindeer"

And generally any song with a children's chorus makes me all cringey, so I'm not a fan of "I saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus"

Hello Richard

The one that makes Veg vomit: Momma Sees Jesus tonight, etc., the shoes
The Alvin Chipmonk song
Can't think of a 3rd

My two least favorites are the Eagles' christmas song and Bruce Springsteen's "Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town." UGH!

I like The Waitresses' "Christmas Wrapping," though.

The Twelve Days of Christmas. (When I was in high school, we had an assembly that featured the twelve days of Christmas with a twist. The recipent of the gifts got shall we say a little overwhelmed and took matters into her own hands. By the time the assembly was over, her character -- among other things -- hocked the five golden rinks and chased the twelve lords of leaping through the auditorium with an ax. While all of this was going on, the chorus continued to sing. How they did it with a straight face -- especially since everyone in the auditorium was laughing hysterically -- is beyond me!)

The Chipmunk Song.

Santa Baby (by Madonna -- I love the Eartha Kitt original.)

(I love Domonick the donkey! I grew up in an Italian neighborhood and even though my family was Jewish, singing Domonick the donkey with my friends is another favorite childhood memory.)

Any holiday song or tune that is turned into background or foreground music for a commercial to sell more crap is automatically on the least liked list.

Currently topping my list is the inane Safeway radio commercial, that starts out "Are you having any fun?", sung by a Sinatra wanna-be. OK, it has nothing to do with Christmas but it's annoying anyway.

"Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" by Judy Garland. I saw her sing it on one of her television show/s[pecials and she sounded like she was loaded when she sung it, slurs and all. Now whenever I hear that song I think of someone being drunk. But I do think it has a beautiful melody.

yeah I agree on the granma got ran over by a riendeer thing, Guess i just cant find death at christmas time something humourous or festive to sing about.....

any SAD christmas song, dosent this miss the point?

yeah right on about Bing, he creeps me out too. He just sounds like the drunk uncle everyone puts up with and sounds even worse with the Andrew sisters, that just makes me picture a drunk incestuious uncle.................but out of respect of you guys older than me that have visual memeories of Bing it probably isnt all that bad.
