Color-centric white (brought out from the 70s)

When I moved in to my place, it had a white GE top-freezer fridge, a harvest gold 36" range hood and matching 30" GE range (guessing the old 36" range had been replaced), and an avocado KitchenAid DW.

I've swapped the appliances out (or changed the color panels) accordingly to match for color.

Majors:
White KA DW (It's a KDI-18, love those color changing panels)
White Maytag French Door fridge
White Samsung Electric smooth top range
White Broan rangehood.

Minors:
White (small) countertop microwave
Black/stainless coffee pot and matching burr grinder
Stainless Breville toaster oven (I use this 90% of the time, the poor Samsung never gets any use)

The white GE fridge sits next to a full-size upright white Kenmore deep freeze in my garage. Probably more refrigeration that I really need, but hey- you never know!

Color-centric miss-mash

Majors, mostly in gloss black:

Kitchenaid SXS refrigerator
Faber range hood (SS)
Wolf smoothtop range
Sharp R930AK black convection-microwave
Miele dishwasher
Jenn-Air built-in double-oven

Smalls:
Kitchenaid stand mixer
Sunbeam Hot-Shot 2
Sunbeam electric skillet in Harvest Gold
Sunbeam hand mixer, yellow
Kenmore / Presto and Sunbeam electric saucepans. (These are just great…)
Westinghouse roaster with stand. White
GE toaster oven circa 1984. Found NIB.
Morphy-Richards toaster, Turquoise.
Egg cookers, West-Bend and Sunbeam.
Cory “ Royal-Buffet “ coffeemaker.

Of course there is a lot more in the basement which I trade out from time to time. However the above are our daily drivers.

mish a mash

LG french door stainless steel refrigerator
GE Cafe stainless steel double oven gas range
Whirlpool stainless steel over the range microwave/exhaust fan
LG stainless steel dishwasher

When we moved into this house 20 years ago, it was new and the kitchen was brand centric -- everything Whirlpool Gold. Appliances all replaced over the years either because of remodel or mechanical failure.

Kitchen fun...

We started off with Harvey Norman "developers pack" F & P single dishdrawer, 4 burner gas cooktop and under bench electric oven all stainless steel.

Replaced all over time, now have Whirlpool 5 burner 75cm gas cooktop, Whirpool 6th Sense pyrolitic oven and new F & P dishdrawer.

Laundry started off with F & P 4kg dryer and a F & P Intuitive 7kg top loader and has been replaced with is a Westinghouse 6kg vented dryer and a Hoover 12kg front loader. The Hoover is great but WiFi is a PITA and won't work with Kogan Mesh wifi.
Small appliances: Philips 8l multicooker (think Instant Pot copy), Panasonic Genius inverter microwave, Thermochef cooker (reasonable priced copy of Thermomix) Kitchenaid toaster, Sanyo hand mixer and Bamix stick mixer.

My kitchen came with a stainless steel refrigerator, gas range and dishwasher, and I replaced the range with another stainless steel, while I neglected to make sure the dishwasher would also be stainless, so it came in a slate or black/gray, while I still have the original fridge… The toaster is white, so is the seldom-used food processor, I have a black juice squeezer and a black Kitchen Aid stand-up mixer, while I at least got my Oster blender in red, and there’s a stainless steel toaster oven I got from my in-laws as well as once a four-slice toaster from my brother in-law which quit working and I never figured out how to empty the crumb tray or even if it had one under it so it got discarded along with my electric griddle which had a short in the set of wires in it I couldn’t fix…

So mainly mish-mash for me…

Form vs Function

Where Form ≡ Brand, and Function ≡ Utility, I'm definitely on the Function side.

Thus in the main kitchen here, there's an original GE wall oven (electric), a Frigidaire Gas On Glass cooktop, a Bosch dishwasher, and a Kitchenaid Side by Side fridge. It all works very well, and to me that's the main point.
