I bought a headset
I couldn’t get the lapel mic to jive with my computer. All of my most recent commentary is through the headset. Does it sound better?
After watching my own videos I realized my voice is very flat. Although I’m very enthusiastic about making commentary, my voice doesn’t convey it.

Not unusual to be surprised at how one's voice sounds when hearing it from a recording. I've had years of doing the outgoing phone recordings at work to get accustomed to mine. It varies in tone depending on whether I've been talking a lot, high/low air humidity, nasal/chest congestion, etc.
