HotpointFan

This machine was built in 1994 (As Far As I Know)
The maximum spin speed is 1200RPM Or a Slow Spin of either 400, or 600RPM. Temperature ranges from Cold to 90C. More To Follow...

The Door Boot / Seal

While she was still standing, i unclipped the door boot and folded it inside the drum. Looks like i will be doing alot of cleaning work on this...

The Pressure Switch (I Think)

As i am learning as i go along, i am not sure weather this is the pressure switch. I am sure it is.

The Motor Out OF The Machine.

Now come the sockets. This motor is fitted with a digital taco and is whisper quiet!

Out Comes The Tub!

The outer tub out of the shell. Lots of bruises, lots of pain, but i managed to do it in the end following a battle from the counterweight.

More To Follow...

That's It For Now, more to follow soon. Meanwhile i have cleaned out the pump somp, and the soap draw. What this guy washed in this machine, i had to get 3 washing up bowel-fulls of hot water to soak out that muck.

Who ever designed this soap draw, it took me over an hour to clean it, silly shape compartmants, i had to get a toothbrush to get into all the silly corners and soaked it in bleach for some time to get rid of the mould. that is my only complaint with it so far...

Anyway, more to come later this weekend, if i remember...

HotpointFan

Thankyou for commenting on this post. Unfortunatly i havn't got a photo of the draw just yet, but hoping to upload a photo of it soon... I Am hoping to be able to aquire a hotpoint WM51 First Edition, Not sure yet, but if i dont get it i will grab one from taylors electricals. They usually throw alot of stuff out so i can just grab one from there. If i'm lucky i might be able to grab one of the early hotpoints e.g 95620 etc... Thanks!

The First Wash

Put the last few connections on and then hooked the drain hose up, set up the garden hose and plug in the power. I was not expecting much, but the door lock light came on and the water valves started an Energized, filled to the original water level this machine had, valves shut off and then the Motor turned. I was in heaven watching it, but now for the bad news, the heater isn't working. i installed a new thermostat as i cut the capillery of the old one by accident. Then came the first interim spin, i did not know that the motor would spin without a little hand, and she sure does fly, there is some power in that motor. The first rinse came, and the water level filled to the same level as the wash, just above the bottom of the door. this repeated for the final rinse, again another problem, the fabric conditioner woudn't work, so that needs looking at. The final spin went very well and not a sound throughout the cycle. So overall I rate it 8/10. Still some improvements but they can be done when i get round to it. Anyway, will upload videos soon.

Henry.

This machine is not from 1994. It is from 2003-2008.

The Zanussi compact studio from 1994 looked something like this.
