Zanussi Washers and Washer Dryers

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Electra

There were 3 possible Electra options you could of had in 1993.

Hotpoint, in the Creda style.

Servis, (Quartz) there may have been backstock held by independants which gradually sold through especially if it had been unpopular in an area

Servis (Merloni) made machines bearing the Electra badge,

SO it may not have been a Hotpoint by all accounts :)

It looked like a Creda. It had 2 dials on the right hand side - a delay timer and a program dial...and about 4 square buttons in the middle, with the push in/pull out dial operation. And it was a 1200 spin. It was all white but I remember there was also a model that had a dark grey door and control pannel and no delay timer.

It was horrid. We had trouble with it from day 1. First, the delivery men forgot to take the travel brackets out of it. Then the door lock went, then the pump went, then the outer drum bit started waring away at the back and we had to have all that replaced. When the motor went on it, my mum decided just to sod it and get a new one.

AquaCycle....

That sounds rubbish.I would of give up a lot easier. As soon as the pump or the outer tub went, i would just buy a new one.

^well, my Mum was on her own with 4 kids at the time. She needed the washer and couldn't afford to replace it. But by about 1996, she was so sick of it, she just got a new one which went on to last 11 years with no repairs.

Unblalanced

haha ive had a whirlpool aqualine 1300 that used to jump and hit the glass with sparks.
the hoover electra 1100f (hoovie) iit used to jump all the time but since i was silly and put in a bath mat on its own it ripped its right suspension leg and the thing on the end of the leg completely off. so now when its severly OOB it doesnt jump it just pulls its self out of its suspension and i have to rush to it tipp it upside down and put it all back together again haha.

and mums jetsystem everynow and then it jumps a couple of times and gets on with it but it nerly never does it. its just a loud helicopter noise i wana replace the suspension so it would live up to its name "super silent". the worst ive had is the whirlpool by far. i miss it

Liam..

It really was :).
I think it was a TOL at the time. It was a crackin' machine. It has the pop out dials that made the whole front of the machine look flat. I think it has a program dial and a spin speed dial. And of course, the door lock light above the handle. I really miss that machine actually

AquaCycle

I was expecting you to say it was an Aquacycle, hence your user name!

The Jetsystem must've been top of the range then i think yeah. Don't think Zanussi had a digital machine during the time this machine was made. They had the Computawash (FLE3000) like has recently been on Ebay, which was mid-late 80s, but i think the first digital machine to follow it was the IZ machines with the tilted drum in or around 2000/2001, so your Jetsystem mustve been top end at the time.

Did it have RSI? Ive noticed some of the Jetsystems of this era (with the white control panels & buttons with coloured strips on them) don't say RSI on them, but others do.

How was the water level on it? Ive used the next generation 'Jetsystem Excel' in a rented flat but it was really tight on water, hardly used anything. And i never noticed the Jetsystem actually doing anything either. Was yours abit like this or did it actually spray the water onto the laundry like the first Jetsystems?
