Ariel Pods at Walmart vs Tide Pods

I found Ariel pods at my local Walmart. They look identical to tide pods. Anyone use them? Do they do a good job? Also, and possibly more importantly, do they smell like tide pods? I can't stand the smell of the tide pods, but if these smell different I would like to try them. Thanks for...

    Washing Machine Opinions, Please!!

We need a new front load washing machine, between the $600-800 range. Any suggestions? Any brand favorites? I don't need a zillion features. Just something simple and reliable. For the record, I had an LG that bit the dust after 2.5 years. It gave us horrible water hammer, so we would like...

My daughter keeps coming home with stains on her pants from black dry erase markers. They are driving me crazy! I can NOT get the stains out. Have tried alcohol, shout, nail polish remover, dry erase marker remover/dry erase board cleaner, and nothing has budged them. Has anyone had luck...

    STPP??

I keep reading about so many people using STPP in their laundry, and I am curious what it is all about. What does it do when you add it to your laundry? Does it only work in certain temperatures? Does it only work on whites? Will it fade colors? What happens if you overdose it? Will it...

Yahoo has the Answer on Front Loaders (Ya, right)

I was relieved to see other comments saying that their front loader caused excessive wear on their clothing. I feel the same way. My LG front loader is very rough on my clothing. Don't even get me started on the water hammer. As soon as this machine dies, I am buying an old school top loader.

    "Green" Detergents?

Thanks everyone for all the input. I was very curious about how these detergents worked vs mainstream detergents. I have heard so many conflicting things about these detergents, but more often then not I hear things similar to what lordkenmore said (Tide price, no where near as good as Tide).

    "Green" Detergents?

What's the scoop with "green" detergents? I have been very curious about Seventh Generation Ultra Plus, Clorox Green Works, Ecos, Method, etc. Anyone try these? Are they any good at stain removal?

    Dryer Sheets, Anyone?

This is really interesting to me, I guess I always assumed everyone used dryer sheets. (Very silly, I know) :) Ok, let me ask a different question then. How do you all control static in clothing? We have allergies and asthma in the family, so line drying is a no-go. We use the dryer, but the...

    Dryer Sheets, Anyone?

We use dryer sheets, usually Bounce Free sheets. Anyone else use sheets? What brands and scents do you like? We mainly use them for static control and light softening. Thinking about trying something new. I am not unhappy with Bounce, just curious about the other options.

Water Hammer Arrestor for FL washer?

I have an LG 3050cw and I have arrestors at the machine and at the wall. (When the house was built 10 years ago, it came with them installed at the wall. After about a month using the the lg washer, pipes began banging so we then added them to the rear of the washer also.) Didn't help me at...

    Free and Clear Detergents

Thanks! Thanks for all of the suggestions, I will have to try them! A friend of mine says that she saw Tide Ultra Stain Release in a "Free" version at Target. It wasn't the usual free and clear. Has anyone tried it? If so, did it leave a chemical smell? I didn't see it at Walmart, so I...

    Free and Clear Detergents

I would love to hear which free and clear detergents are your favorites and why. I have an LG front loader so it would have to play nice with an HE machine. I tried Tide Free but I felt like it left a chemical smell behind. Anyone else notice that?

    CR Test Results and Persil

Wisk Wisk HE and Wisk Free and Pure is not available anywhere near me either. I spoke with their customer service and they told me the Free and Pure is only available in select regions (not mine) and the HE is at a grocery store that is over an hour away. I am in the Kansas City metro.

    Target Up and Up Detergent

Has anyone tried the Target Up and Up laundry detergent? I saw that The Sweethome did a review of laundry detergents and the Up and Up detergent did well (the free and clear variety). Looks like all Up and Up varieties have enzymes, so that's a good sign! :)...
