    I personally like the colors of the Guardsman upright. Red and chrome. It was also the only Hoover to have a polished aluminum base, which looks great with the other colors.

    Definately! They were constantly breaking down, I don't know if there is even a way to keep it from happening. As far as reliability, they definately have been terrible.

    From my experiance, the ones that do a bad cleaning job have the automatic height adjustment. The models with the manual adjustment, like the Versamatic do very well.

    They did have 2 hoses, mainly because the power nozzle was and still is optional and costs extra. Almost everyone buy it anyway.

    The air still has to be moving freely through the bag. All vacuums use moving air to get the dirt from the floor to the bag, some vacuums just put the fan between the two.
