This is going to sound elementary, but how do you get the buttons off? I ordered a new set of buttons for the control panel, I went to "pull" the old ones off and they wont come off. Do they just slip on and off or am I missing something? Thanks.

Whirlcool, first congrats on getting it! :) As for the bottom panel cover...will the range be placed between 2 cabinets? If so, make or order a piece of paneling to match your cabinets that will fit right in that spot on the range. It will make it look like it is sitting in it's own base...

Bosch. I had an early 90's Maytag, a late 90's ASKO, and in 2002 got a Bosch. The Bosch is the quietest machine I never heard and able to clean the lasagna pan right off the table. I am very happy with it. Hope that helps.

I finally got around to playing with my machine today. I tipped it back and moved the pulley both clockwise and counter-clockwise and it seems to move fine. The downdraft should have a motor/blower seperate from any other functions of the range. To not hook it up and use your own overhead ventilation should be ok. As for wondering if it actually works...that's the chance we take everytime we seek out one of these deals. I hope it works out for you. :)

I think so....I have 2 Hotpoint electric ranges, both from the late 1940's. One was in the house when I bought it and the other is my Grandmothers which she gave to me. Hers is almost perfect and appraised at $4500.00...can you believe it? The other one needs a bit of TLC...haven't had that one...
