    Hotpoint aquarius WD help/spares ideas?

I’m not sure what model this is but having a very quick look at the service info I have, you might want to check both the supressor and the 130.deg C high heat thermostat as these are in line with the solenoids. Hope this helps

Creda Reversair tumble dryer belt needed.

Service info I was lucky enough to pick up some service information for Creda machines from around the time Hotpoint had taken them over. The information covers Creda designed machines - the dryer service info shows as Hotpoint Creda whereas the washing machine I’ve attached shows just Creda...

    elderly hotpoint Empress

Wow. Love the back story and great to see the work you are doing. I’m pretty sure this was the model our next door neighbour had but she didn’t have the wringer. Not sure if there was a wringerless version available or if it had just been ditched as it wasn’t in the storage area and this...

Hoover Pro Logic 1100 - no dryer anymore!

I just realised that thermostat is the dryer one from the top of the outer tub - that monitors the exhaust temperature. Number 72 on the attached diagram is the capacitor for the blower motor

Hoover Pro Logic 1100 - no dryer anymore!

Nice machine. I have the earlier A8516 although it’s awaiting repair for a leak. It’s likely to be the thermal overload thermostat located on the blower unit which houses the dryer heater and thermostats - located on the top of the drum. I suspect the thermostat you’ve shown is the water one...

Writing a book on early Kenwood appliances

Hi Diana I have a Thorn brochure from 1974 the covers their brands of the day - Bendix, Kenwood, Moffat and Tricity. I’ve taken a few quick pics as it features the pile rider as well as other things such as dishwasher, mixers, toaster etc. Is this useful? Cheers Steve

Square Door Hoover Logic 1300 Wont Spin

Just to be clear it’s green/brown on connection 11 and grey brown on connection 13.

Correction It’s green/brown for the wires - I misread the code

Square Door Hoover Logic 1300 Wont Spin

Avoid adjusting these if possible- they are set precisely and can be messed up quite easily as there are usually a few different adjustments for the different levels and adjusting one can mess up the others. With these machines is usually the air path that’s the issue rather than the switch...

Square Door Hoover Logic 1300 Wont Spin

One of the timer motors runs continuously so would get warm although I’ve never noticed how hot they get. It could be that the cam is not rotating as freely as it used to and the resistance is putting a strain on the timer motor. I recently took apart a Servis timer and used electrical contact...

Square Door Hoover Logic 1300 Wont Spin

Hi Chris It’s likely that the pressure switch was partially blocked and by taking off the tube and blowing you’ve cleared it. It’s a common fault on these and doesn’t take much crud to stop the switch operating correctly so the machine still thinks it’s got too much water in it. . Might be...

    CREDA

That is the right otter protector in your link. The item you highlighted in your first post is the drum earthing strap - if it was a thermostat it would have wires connected. I think you will need to take the element housing out to look at the protector and thermal fuse. I’ve attached a couple...

    CREDA

I’m not that familiar with these but the item you have highlighted is the earthing strap for the drum. According to the service gumpf for the larger sized dryers, the thermostat, cut out and thermal fuse are all part of the heater assembly and it looks similar to yours. If your replacement...

    UK Creda Spacesaver Dishwasher

I installed one of these when I was doing up the kitchen while I was living in York. Must have been around 1992. I found some old photos but they are not the clearest and some dodgy fashion choices. The units had already been ordered before the thought of a dishwasher which is why it’s not under...

SERVIS quartz 6035 drum bearings and parts

I'm not sure if that is a date code on the heater or not. There was a date sticker on the plastic tub of mine and I think on the underside of the lid and possibly the module so you could double check to see if there are any other date references that might match up. As Mike says, I think the...

SERVIS quartz 6035 drum bearings and parts

The drum is stainless steel and the spider is an alloy so be careful with that as it might not be as robust. I'm not sure about the spare part numbers but you can change both the heater and thermostat from the rear so probably best to leave as is until they stop working and source spares just...

SERVIS quartz 6035 drum bearings and parts

Great progress and yes they have definitely failed! So you are right your new part 3 is the counterface and looking at your 5th picture the original one has split. You need to lever this out and clean up the housing and the new one should push in - usually would use some debor glue under the...

SERVIS quartz 6035 drum bearings and parts

Well done so far. Yes those clamp bands are a bit of a pain especially to put back on - I think the other holes are used to let you squeeze it together to get the clip in place. A fellow member had a nasty accident with a screwdriver trying to put one of these back on though! I would just try...

SERVIS quartz 6035 drum bearings and parts

Well done on tracking down the bearing kit. You might find once you strip the.machine down that it is just the seal and the bearings are ok and just need greasing. The replacement ones are a different design and in my opinion not as good as the originals. As Mike said, the water coming out from...

SERVIS quartz 6035 drum bearings and parts

Here are some pictures I took of the bearings on the model before yours - the grey fascia 6030 with a spincare drum . This machine had a leaking seal but when I stripped it down the bearings were fine - just needed greasing and a new water seal fitted. These bearings are built to last so you...
