Back in August, I posted on here about Steve(my partner) and myself purchasing a 1949 brick house. After a couple LONG months, we have finally closed on it. The house was originally a 3 bedroom 1 and a half bathrooms. Someone at some time built an addition across the back and made one large room with a fireplace and a smaller bedroom. Steve and I are going in and going to update the electrical and plumbing (per code). We are also going to redo the kitchen. We are going to use my vintage appliances. Eventually we are going to replace all the tile flooring with hardwood flooring. Paint the walls and some other minor cosmatics. Here is a picture of the front of the house. I'll be posting pictures up as progess moves along. I'm glad we finally got out dream home. I think I'll have enough room for all my antique tvs, radios, vacuums, washers, dryers perculators and everything else I have. If not I'll be having a yard sale. LOL

Thanks for the update Justin, I will be looking forward to seeing your renovation as you progress!! Thanks for sharing.

I'm rather suprised to see a grassy lawn there in Tuscon. I remember visiting Phoenix a while back and everybody had sandy yards there, except for some of the really fancy places over in Scottsdale.

That's a pretty house, I like the brickwork. YOur antique appliances ought to go good in the kitchen with the era of the house...be sure to shoot some pictures for us! Is that house slab on grade? I'm curiou if it is, how the hardwood floors will work on top the concrete. Is it put down with adheasives?

Very nice looking house - lots of potential! It sort of reminds me of those little houses I used to build with my set of "American Bricks" (pre-Lego)

Be sure to take a few "before" pics for the magazine spread - you never know when HGTV will come knocking!

Congratulations!

Nice looking place there - looks very original. Love to see the before and after. My attempts with a labor of love have been going on for two years now. Hopefully you won't need to gut and re-do the whole thing - it might consume your whole life! :-)

Congrats!!!

Ben
