Look how beautiful the 1953 Hotpoint came out! I sweated a new copper line and ran a drain line to that side of the kitchen so there could be permanent water and drain connections over here. All connections are completely hidden under the dishwasher. The KitchenAid 14 Portable used to sit here, but once I installed the KD-12 "Pimp my Dishwasher" DW, I never used the 14 anymore. No need for two similar dishwashers in the kitchen, variety is the spice of life.

All I need to do is have a nice opaque white Plexiglas top cut for the machine or maybe even a wooden chopping block.

Rack comparison, I use the KD-14 racks in the KithchenAid because they hold more and are better designed than the 12's racks...

Great collection of classic US dishwashers there Robert!

They look great, but its the Hotpoint that does it for me.
What a great looking machine.

Oh Robert,,,

What a beauty.
I was just thinking the other day if you had got around to installing that gem. You have such a beautiful kitchen. I just love the colors and especially the GE Range.
Congratulations and Good Luck with the New Hotpoint. Eddie

Robert, that Hotpoint looks right at home in your kitchen!! What fun. Now you have three dishwashers all hooked up and ready for use. Your dinner parties will be the talk of the neighborhood!!! Thanks for sharing the fun pictures.

Thank you

Thanks for showing your everyday machine. That hotpoint is great. The soap dispenser is wild. Now that is using your head . I used my KD11 tonight and you are right, the 14 racks would hold a lot more. I will keep my eyes open. Just wish it had a soap despenser. Might just have to trade it out for different model. Again Thank you. Mike

KD14 Rack

Oh! How well I remember that KD 14 rack! I actually used it all the time at my Mom's house where we had a UM-4 in the basement below the kitchen that we used all the time for big gaterings.
I could get all the dishes from each serving into that rack and could even split it with the UM cup rack whcih was half the size of the bottom rack to do cups, glasses and the plates and all in 3 minutes!
I had the top rack that had the fold down sections but wound up giving it to my cousin who still had his 14 going until nearly 2000.
I also had a pumped drain on that UM-4 utilizing the Kitchenaid 14 motor and pump that was originally in the 14 that I tossed.
Worked very well. Miss those speed demon cycles!

Your Kitchen looks great and I love the way all the colors match too!

That Kitchen...

Is absolutely beautiful Robert. It looks like such a happy place with all of those nice colors. Congratulations on those fine machines! I hope someday I can have a vintage kitchen.

The dishwasher in the "nook" is screaming for a countertop of white marble or granite exactly level with the windowsill as your baking center to roll dough and plan meals with a stool to pull up on either side. The granite could be supported by the wall and radiator and who doesn't like more counterspace?
