Thank you

Thanks for showing your everyday machine. That hotpoint is great. The soap dispenser is wild. Now that is using your head . I used my KD11 tonight and you are right, the 14 racks would hold a lot more. I will keep my eyes open. Just wish it had a soap despenser. Might just have to trade it out for different model. Again Thank you. Mike

KD14 Rack

Oh! How well I remember that KD 14 rack! I actually used it all the time at my Mom's house where we had a UM-4 in the basement below the kitchen that we used all the time for big gaterings.
I could get all the dishes from each serving into that rack and could even split it with the UM cup rack whcih was half the size of the bottom rack to do cups, glasses and the plates and all in 3 minutes!
I had the top rack that had the fold down sections but wound up giving it to my cousin who still had his 14 going until nearly 2000.
I also had a pumped drain on that UM-4 utilizing the Kitchenaid 14 motor and pump that was originally in the 14 that I tossed.
Worked very well. Miss those speed demon cycles!

Your Kitchen looks great and I love the way all the colors match too!

That Kitchen...

Is absolutely beautiful Robert. It looks like such a happy place with all of those nice colors. Congratulations on those fine machines! I hope someday I can have a vintage kitchen.

The dishwasher in the "nook" is screaming for a countertop of white marble or granite exactly level with the windowsill as your baking center to roll dough and plan meals with a stool to pull up on either side. The granite could be supported by the wall and radiator and who doesn't like more counterspace?

Philip

But there are 2 french toast plates......Inquiring minds want to know! You don't usually let them stay for breakfast.

HEY, ***hands on hips***, that's the pizza plate from the night before! I've never seen red French Toast before. hmmmph.

How long is the cycle, Robert?
Eugene the cycle is 50:15 total. It goes like this:

SPRAY/DRAIN - 0:45
DRAIN - 0:45
FILL - 0:45
WASH 4:15
DRAIN - 0:45
FILL - 0:45
WASH 4:15
DRAIN - 0:45
FILL - 0:45
RINSE 0:45
DRAIN - 0:45
FILL - 0:45
RINSE 0:45
DRAIN - 0:45
DRY HEAT AND FAN 14:15
DRY HEAT ONLY 9:00

*The impeller runs during FILL so a :45 second rinse is more like a 1:15 minute rinse as the machine fills fast.

Great Hotpoint!

Wow, Robert, that looks like a machine I have seen only in ads! The light-up Hotpoint dial just takes the cake! The full-size reversible upper rack is also quite something - it must be a lot of fun to use!
It looks like it did a fine job cleaning, too - I am quite the fan (pun intended) of the impeller dishwashers!!
Is this model the gravity-drain one or does it have a pump??

I must concur with Robert about gravity drains. In my opinion it's one less mechanical part to worry about breaking down.

Cool

I think you have a beautiful kitchen. I hope that in 2011 when I come for a conference in your fair city I can come see your collections. BTW what do you mean by temporarily alone?? Hope it's a good thing. ;-)
