I wrote to the seller this afternoon and just received a reply back. She already has an offer for an amount which is a bit highter than I would have made based on my past purchases of Electric Sinks. On the other hand, being from Illinois, I need to keep travel and transportation costs in mind as well.

As an aside, just 3 weeks ago, I brought home this 1949 or 1950 Hotpoint Electric Sink from the nearby city of Normal. Unfortunately, it is in very poor condition. The faucet has been replaced, and the metal around the Red H logo is loose; the plastic around the flip-up doors left and right of the faucet is broken; porcelain is gone in the bottom of the sink bowl; plastic pieces around the door are broken; the Impeller is gone!; 2/3rds of the racks are gone; rust is prevelant; drain tube from the tub to the drain valve is rotten; and so on. Likely I will just keep this machine for a while, and then part it out for what I can salvage.

On my 1949/1950 Hotpoint Electric Sink: Dishwasher - numerous problems including the missing Impeller.
Also, the front of the sink cabinet and dishwasher door have been painted with a roller brush.

Welllll, the old used-up machine pictures juxtaposed next to the pristine good condition machine pictures does make one appreciate the finding of a low-use machine.
Gosh, Mike - that is a shame that your Hotpoint Electric Sink is in need of so much work... BUT I will bet you can scare up a stand-alone Hotpoint dishwasher to use to rebuild the one in the sink unit!
Mike, at least that's still the original control knob.
Hey Mike, what are the flip-up doors to the sides of the faucet for? Also, am I correct in assuming the sink tops of these are enameled steel instead of cast iron?

I've been in contact with the seller as well. They are gutting the entire kitchen, so everything is up for sale, including the nice kitchen cabinets.
YMMV, but in my mind, I'd rather pay more.....a lot more.....for something in excellent condition, as opposed to buying junk for cheap and spending umpteen years/dollars attempting to restore it.
Don't get me wrong, I love a killer bargain just like the next guy, but if I'm after something, I'm willing to step up if need be.

Hotpoint Dishwasher/Sink
Well, i just picked up the Hotpoint Dishwasher sink for sale in Baltimore ($200. plus $50. gas)and it definitely looks better in the pictures that in real life. The Cabinet underneath the sink is a mess, rusted through in some places. The dishwasher is in great condition though.
