Hot gas valve and timer test?
I'm trying to figure out how to test if the new hot gas valve and timer are working. Does anyone know how to test these devices?

The timer should be in the freezer you can manually turn it till it clicks which on mine is the start of the defrost cycle

Probably should add mine is a bottom pull our drawer freezer
Testing a GE Hot Gas Defrost refrigerator
You could also just use a test cord with a 120 volts applied to the defrost coil while the refrigerator is running in a cooling mode to see how well it works, but I would try advancing the timer first.
