1990 Lady Kenmore Dryer with electronic control

Don't have this dryer but trying to figure out what the momentary switches on the wiring diagram are for and where they are located. Saw a photo showing a normal lever operated door switch but there was another button type switch below that. Is that the momentary switch? Are there two of them or are they both incorporated into one device? What are their function in conjunction with the lockout relay? Wiring diagram seems to show switches with door closed but dryer off. Very strange, can't make any sense of it. With door open, if all the momentary switches were closed, the dryer motor would briefly start and then be locked off by the relay which would engage as soon as the centrifugal switch opened.

those extra switch/relays were in place for a 'toss the load to the front' feature...

after the end of the cycle, with the door open, using two buttons one at each upper corner, kind of a safety for both hands to be out of the way while the machine was in use, pushing both at the same time gave a momentary rotation of the drum to help toss items from the back of the drum to the front to help ease unloading of that huge drum.....my 1989 model had this feature, but was not on my 1995 version....actually a cool useful feature

Interesting, and thanks for the info. I was right about the how, but had no clue as to why you would want to bump the motor. Seems like quite the overkill but without having seen firsthand how well it does it's intended job, what do I know.

Toss and Turn Tumble

I to was puzzled when I first saw one of these dryers with what looked like two extra door switches that were recessed so the door did not even touch them when the door was closed.

It is cool when the engineers actually get to put one of their interesting ideas into use, every once in a while one of these ideas actually make it to market, but it is usually killed off pretty soon by the bean counters.
