Hi all, I have a matching set of mustard yellow 806 washer and dryer. They’re in fantastic shape. I’ve been using this set for the last three years and recently the dryer decided it can’t sense the dryness of the clothes. I downloaded the service manual for it and it seems everything but one thing checks out. The carbon brush and slip ring connection. Everything is in good shape, no cracks or corrosion and not much wear. But the brush constantly loses continuity with the slip ring. I’ll pull the little brush housing apart, put it back together, it’ll have continuity. Send it in a revolution and it’s gone or very spotty. All the individual pieces of the brush assembly are clean and check out fine. The issue is where the brush contacts the slip ring because if you check between the brush and the screw on the plastic housing there’s good continuity. So I’m at a lose because I’ve cleaned and cleaned the surfaces and it still loses continuity. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Hi! Make sure the little spring behind the carbon brush that's up in the top of the plastic housing is clean, the contact on top of it is clean and that it is still springy enough to force the carbon brush to the slip ring. It should be springy enough to make it somewhat difficult to reassemble it without it kicking the carbon brush out.
