Anyone still own a Hotpoint 9506 Electronic de Deluxe? Would like to get my hands on one as i have loads of spare parts in the loft to do one up.

This is at least the second thread I have read where you have been showing bad attitude. So, some advice from another Brit:
1. Bad attitude is not appreciated round here from any one
and (and this applies to any situation), as has been noted above,
2. Know who you are dissing before you make any comment.
So, I would suggest that you take your bad attitude and shove it where the sun don't shine, then P off yourself.
Oh and I daresay there will be room for your Hotpoint parts up there too

This saddens me...
To see this sort of unwanted and unnecessary behavior on the forum. This is a great space for people like us to show off our collections and talk about them as well as make new friends for life etc. Unimatic1140 THE MODERATOR! of Discuss-o-Mat was merely trying to gain you more views because your title lacks a lot. You had no right to act like that. Also I really doubt you will find a 9506 because they are the runt of the litter, it wasn't a core lineup model and because it was that basic with only one option and no conditioner people avoided it and were definitely able to afford a far better spec Hotpoint at the time of production. It's not even De Luxe like you say. If I was you I would look out for a 9526 or something that is far more common!

@ Unimatic if you watching or reading this i do apologise for being rude. Normally i am a happy cheery person but the last week has been rubbish (no exuse i know) so sorry to take it out on you. Sometimes the way things are worded on forums comes across patronizing or at least thats the way i percieve them and its like waving a red flag to a bull lol I am an Aries after all lol. Anyway thanks SupermaticJames for that helpful bit of information. The main reason i would like an older Hotpoint is because the current washers are rubbish at rinsing as they don't use enough water. I currently have a Bosch Classix Vario Perfect which is not bad but the rinsing could be better and even with 'Aqua Plus' enabled the water level never comes up above the door except on Rinse/Spin. What a palava to get washing done in 2013! Be quicker to handwash lol

So have many people off here met each other face to face? I guess it is a good place to meet new people as we all have a like minded interest. I think i must of been about 6 or 7 when i started to be interested in washers. The first machine i was fascinated by was my Mums Hoovermatic twin tub then the Hoover Electron which sadly died in 1988.

One of the reasons I mentioned the thread title is because the Discuss-o-Mat automatically names the html page title (which is the title you see on the tab of your browser) the same as the thread title. This is important because the page title is what Google picks up and uses as one of its main references to figure out what the page/thread is about. So even though someone here might not have that machine, there is a much better chance that someone searching google who has this machine might find this thread at some point in the future if the thread title is thoroughly filled out.
Also each and everyone one of us on both sides of the Atlantic needs to remember that British English and American English are very different and certain words and references mean very different things. So we need to be very careful before thinking someone is being nasty when most likely its not the case.

Hotpoint and rinsing
Some may disagree but if you're looking for a vintage machine with good rinsing results hotpoint, especially such a basic one with only one water level is not a machine known for particularly thorough rinsing, Phillips, Zanussi or Hoover give much more thorough rinsing results.
Ofcourse a hotpoint top loader is a different story....

I haven't seen a Hotpoint Toploader in donkeys years lol My Auntie used to have one bur i never see them on Ebay either anymore so goodness knows where you find them now.

Having used vintage Hotpoint FL's on a DAY to DAY basis and many versions of programming like ANY machine its how you get to know and understand its ways of washing and rinsing and I can say that they do WASH and RINSE exceptionally if one allows it to.
Have used Ariel, Persil,Daz,Fairy etc etc in these machines and as long as one gets the dosage right perfect results are achievable.
Im not biased anymore towards any make or model, ive learnt they are all great when ones knows its SWAT's.
Ben - yes meets are great although perhaps if you are on facebook you might like to add a few of us and get to know us on there to get more comfortable with us bunch of old crocks.

I hear what you're saying, we had our 9530 as a daily driver for well over a year, I'm not saying they cannot rinse well, I just found you have to be more careful with them than other machines of the era (loading towel loads lightly and being mindful of detergent doses for instance).
When using the more basic 9517 with the single water level because it does a full static fill and will only top up if the water level drops massively, most of the water was soaked up by heavy loads so the water level was not particularly far up the door.
Of course what little we managed to use our 9550 it appears to do a short spin followed by a long spin on the interims, rather than the 2 short bursts of the mechanical dial machines, which I would say is far more effective.
Any machine will do it's job as long as you know how to use it, a 2000's low water usage Bosch will rinse just fine as long as you use it properly!
My point was really that if you want a machine that will specifically rinse clear pretty much no matter how full it's filled or how much/whatever detergent you use a Hotpoint 9506 is probably not going to guarantee that.
I love our Hotpoints and can't wait to get them up north to use them more regularly
