Not a bad deal, considering imo. Every Tablet is sealed in a wrapper, protecting the Enzymes & STPP from going bad.

But one would suggest caution in purchasing bulk lot of dw detergent tablets. When we stockpiled Electrasol "Powerball" tabs as time went by the stash contents became harder and harder. By the time we reached the final canisters one had to beat the still wrapped tabs with a mallet to pulverize. This with all sealed (until use) canisters stored in a cool and dry environment.

Something I wanted to ask you...

IRRC, I think you live in New York. Now, I've heard NY has very soft water in most areas, so I was curious with there older & newer power balls so overloaded with Enzyme, do you ever expericnece any etching of glassware or anything for that matter?

I've used these on loads without anything to etch and they do a very good job, however if one piece of glass is in there, it comes out covered in horrible scratches. This is something Cascade is so much better at, as it has buffering agent that neutralizes this, but the Finish products claim to contain it too, so I've really wanted to ask. Maybe it's just me, or maybe a common trend.

Finish Quantum also etchs badly, but no where as bad as the Powerball tablets. There Electrasol Gelpacs also do a very good job, without etching however, they tend to sud up so much, my dishwasher motor practically stops when there used without deformer...

That being said, they did still work well after being pulverized.

I do still have a few tablets like the ones being offered that dissolve perfectly. How these will behave is anybody's guess -- though you have to wonder if the seller decided to auction them off after finding they'd more or less permanently solidified.

Worked Well Enough

But found early on a full tablet created too much froth for our dishwasher. So broke them in half and used 1/4 for each cup, pre-wash and main cycle.

Half Dosing..

When you broke them in Half, Did you ever cut them so the Red Ball would be partially on both sides?

From What I understand, the Red Ball is the Enzymes itself, and if one is not careful, One basically get's a load with Oxygen Bleach and nothing else, and the other load gets all the Enzyme..

Sorry about asking so many questions, just, I like hearing others opinions on things.
