Seeing as I'm off work for awhile "doctors orders" (no not the old disco tune) and having plenty of time to waste, after taking the dogs to Petsmart I took them to Sears Outlet and Clearance Centre. Always fun but not always great savings, I mean really great, ..but sometimes yes and I did find one which I'll get to further down..but first.
Having completed perusing all the hundreds of mainly black or stainless steel fridges/stoves, the odd bisque, I happened upon the washer/dryer section. Nothing too extraordinary, some Bosch Nexxts, a set of Fisher & Paykels and the usual Kenmore lineup interspersed with a Maytag or Whirpool Duet. What did catch my eye jammed into a pillar were two Danby washer/spin driers..akin to those old Hoover jobs, but more gussied up and fresh looking, like when you've got a hot date on Friday night. Shock set in.. they were asking $411, knocked down from 5 something...Not happy because I haven't seen one of those contraptions in eons and when I did I thought "perfect for my SIL alone in her apt. where she hates going down to the laundry room" Ah well... certainly not worth that.. I'll just have to keep an eye out for a used one.

Well over to the vacuum section after a quick look thru the furniture..not too many vacs to be had. At first glance all appearing to be somewhat used, returns no doubt and the prices well they weren't that great...but there are on the far side somewhat hidden necessitating my stretching and reaching of which I'm thankful that I have always maintained my athletic figure and prowess..I grabbed a lovely and screaming yellow Kenmore canister with attached powermate. Upon turning over the price tab I was somewhat shocked to see a price of $59. Why the machine didn't look touched, so I quickly extracted its retractable cord and plugged it in...Ah,, very smooth, very hushed..but I'm all the while thinking,,They must have left a 1 off the front of the price, it can't be $59. Perhaps $159, as the regular price was showing $299 Cdn. Not too far away sat a similar looking machine but in a bright candy applesque red $299 at discount...upon investigating it was indeed similar however sporting an electronic bag full indicator and the ever popular HEPA word spelled out boldly. Hepa huh.. I opened it up and found a little Hepa filter in there...all the while thinking..well maybe this little Hepa filter will fit in Screaming Yellow...at this point I didn't even know if Screaming Yellow had a Hepa or not, I just deduced it didn't because it wasn't flaunting the word on its body like Candy Apple was. Naturally I proceeded to open Screaming Yellow and definitely no Hepa but only small rectangular black sponge of Hepa dimensions...I grabbed the Hepa..it fit, I lifted and off to the till I went.
Got it home,,works nicely, don't like canisters, going to sell it for more than I paid at the flea market I hope,, if not,,it's very colorful and I'm sure I'll find a use for it or someone to hand it over to.
My cameras buggered, my fans cracked, but I figure I got a steal on a new vac...I'll post a pic soon.

cheap stuff

I got my GE computerized dishwasher for $75 bucks @ Home Depot.

Did the same thing you did.. is there a digit missing in the front?

It had a small dent in the kick panlel and the inside was dusty.

I don't particularly like GE. Before I had my second kitchen it was hooked up by the washer (in the basement) for parties
where I normally serve large groups (friends and family) for dinner. Could not pre-rinse. It works grea! Then again with that much water usage it better work great!!!!

Now, of course, I have built a second kitchen to keep it company!!!! LOL

Congrats on your bargain. I'll bet your new vacuum really sucks. LOL
