I wanted to extend public thanks to Ralph chachp for a mixer he gifted to me this week!

It's a very pristine Sunbeam Power Plus, in wonderful condition and very complete. It has both its bowls, its beaters, the unobtainium dough hooks, along with the slicer/shredder and meat grinder accessories.

Ralph, bless him, sent this to me for the cost of shipping, which wasn't even as much as he thought it was going to be. I am over and whelmed. Verklempt, in fact.

I was able to find an instruction manual for it on Etsy, which contained some information I'd forgotten from back in the day when Shirley Jones was hawking these beauties - the Almond version (which was not as expensive as this chrome model) was $179.00. At the time, you could have had a KitchenAid K-45A for that! No wonder the Power Plus didn't hang around but a few years.

Ralph, thank you very much indeed! I'm copying one of Ralph's photos here, from when he first offered the machine on the list. Later, there will be some of it in my own kitchen.

P.S.: If anyone thinks that's just a nice later-model Mixmaster, think again. It's about twice the size of the regular Mixmaster - the large bowl holds four quarts. The thing is HUGE.

Verklempft AND Vermischt (literally) !....

Mazeltov--that is Gawjuss. And a testament to the kindness of fellow AW members. Enjoy!

Just For Grits 'n Giggles....

Here's an original ad, featuring Momma Partridge herself, Shirley Jones.

I hoot whenever I see one of Shirley's Sunbeam ads, with her tag line, "Love Their Quality!" Fortunately for Shirley, she was well clear of Sunbeam when CEO "Chainsaw" Al Dunlap blew in like an evil wind and eliminated every last vestige of quality - to say nothing of every last vestige of ethical behavior.

John, Sometimes a little mommaloschen...

is nice, nu? BTW, Shirley Jones is going to be a guest on the Turner Classic Movies cruise ship wing-ding in October. I can't get over how WHITE her hair is!

Sandy...hahahah!!!

I just couldn't candy coat it when I said it. She was on TCM wearing HEAVY orangey foundation and her hair was POLAR white. Really shocking after not having seen much of her in the last 20 years.

That is a very nice mixer, I have my grams almond PowerPlus with dough hooks and two sets of beaters. It took her about 20 years of having it before she let it replace the model 10 in the kitchen.
I love the work light on these

Definetly a great mixer for shopping frosting, meriunge a, or cream
