Hey everyone ....I hope everyone is having a great summer. I have some exciting news...I have my first vintage machine due to my best friend ( Jeff ) in Nashville. Jeff and I have been best friends since childhood and he flips houses as a hobby in the Nashville area. He bought a house back in March that was built in the early 1960's. He said this house was the worst he had ever seen in his 10 years of flipping houses. He said it took two dumpsters to hold all the junk that he took out of the house just to see what structional problems the house might have in general.
He discovered a Frigidaire dryer buried underneath a dirty tarp. He found the owners manual for both washer and the dryer..Of course, the washer is long gone! He found bags of receipts from Cain-Sloan( department store )...

He took a leaf blower to blow out all the dust, lint, dirt, insects from years of not being used. I have no clue if the dryer works. He is keeping it for me until I can relocate to the Nashville area.

Congratulations! I still kick myself for not getting one like it for sale in Montreal a few years ago... I thought I'd never get the matching washer. Now, I do have a 1960 Frigidaire washer but it's an almost BOL model.

1960 is my favorite model year of Frigidaire washer/dryers. I admit I even like it more than the 1957 models, as cool as those are!

The tread I attached shows the beautiful symmetry between the washer and the dryer, I couldn't see not having one without the other!

Thanks for all the nice comments! I am so lucky to have to found such a nice group of people. I truely love the design of this dryer ! I would love to find the matching washer but I REALIZE I was truely lucky to have found this awesome dryer. Maybe the washer gods will smile on me again so I have a matched set ...LOL ..I can always dream...

If anyone has ever owned one of these machines ..I would love here your thoughts and comments...

1960 TOL Frigidaire Dryer

We have this pair in the museum in white, FD diffidently hit a home-run with the styling of this pair.

1960 was the last year of the orignal big air-cooled condenser dryer, these were made from about 1951 or 52 and were built in 7 different styled models, all were electric of coarse but they were also all produced in 120 volt models as well as the more popular 240 models.

At one point in time Tom and I had one of each style of this dryer before sanity kicked in, now we only have four, LOL.
