OK. It's about time. We've owned the Jenn Air cooktop and oven for months, and they've been just sitting in Rich's parents house colleting dust. We made the executive decision Thursday to take on the project this week, before I go back to work.

We'll post a few pictures as we make progress, but have a few to start you off with. I'm sure those of you who saw the units at the July wash-in will be saying "it's about time!!!" and you're right!

Here's the before picture.

Just to the wall as you see in the last pic with the PINK plasterboard. We'll cover that back up after doing what we need to behind it with ductwork and wiring, then install the new, longer counter, cooktop, oven, lighting, a couple of cabinets we'll have to build, and a few nice extras that would have been in the kitchen 40 or so years ago!

NOTE TO THE GROUP:

As this projects progresses, I have been checking on both Chuch and Rich to make sure that: A) they haven't killed each other, and B) they're not in the emergency room with a plethora of injuries!!

What else are friends for??

oh oh oh! a remodel. Mazel Tov. I can't wait to see how this comes out. I expect it will be FABU!

I was wondering, will the DW migrate to next to the sink?
If it perhaps did, there would be a LOVELY space to add a front-loader (to keep your top-loader company).

ducks and runs...........

I'm sure those of you who saw the units at the July wash

Yay!

Congrats and good luck on the remodel.

Rich, will there be peaches flambe allowed in the new kitchen?
You should rest assured that my camera will be more than ready for that one.

What's a ........ ROTATO BOX?

It's the box that a Rotato comes in :-) All kidding aside. I couldn't resist! A rotato is a plastic peeler that I wouldn't be caught without. It can peel an apple, potatoe...etc in about 15 seconds. I like it so much that I have two. One is automatic and the other is hand powered.

Thanks for the encouragement on this project. It's quucklt becoming a bear of a project (don't they all?) and our very own Evan is due here, any time now, to help with some wiring.

Toggle, We haven't even thought about the sink area, yet, but we have talked about putting the dishwasher next to the sink!! In time, in time!

"Good luck and may your obstacles be few." Thank you, Frigilux. We need it!

"Are you guys taking out that whole side, or just down to the wall?" Just down to the wall, Oxydolfan1, the wall behind is a load bearing wall with one of the main beams of the house.

Back to work

We didn't get a whole lot done yesterday (other than enjoying a nice time at Bobby's w/Evan) and not much today because we were in a stall. We really needed to get rid of the nasty 220 lines that were in there for the cooktop and oven before going further, and Evan came by after work to head up that project (thank you so-o-o-o much, and see you tomorrow!). Here's Evan with his apprenitce (Chuck) with the new lines!
