Wash test weekend!

The moment of truth... How would the second "maiden wash" of the 61 Whirlpool go??
This was a real 'torture test' - the dishes had been sitting for not one, not two, but four days!

It's a ... pass!

I was very happy to see that this test resulted in a passing grade! The whole load was cleaned just fine! YAY!!

So, two down, one to go! On Saturday, I painted the repaired tub of the 57 Whirlpool with some POR-15. I figured it would be wise to coat the impeller shaft, too.

The turquoise WP is a real stunner. So much so that I might dare to suffer the wrath of he whom I live with and bring it home myself if I were to come across one. Pray it doesn't happen though.

But that's about as far as I got... I needed some new bolts to re-attach the door gaskets, but I messed up and got bolts that were just a wee bit too long... D'OH!!
So, we'll be delayed another week... Oh, why oh why don't the hardware stores in Ogden and Standstead open on Sundays??

Paul....what a beautiful job you have done on these machines!! I just love that GE Princess. That was the model that was in the home economics kitchen in my junior high school. If you don't have the use and care literature for it, I have one and can scan it for you if you like.
