I went to the grocery store yesterday. I needed some hand dishwashing liquid, so I was looking for specials.

I found a new one by Ajax. They have lime scented dishwashing liquid....I haven't seen that scent in years, so I bought a bottle.

I used it last night and it works well. The scent reminds me of the old Lime Fresh Purex dishwashing liquid if you remember. Big difference is that it takes a whole lot less, and isn't opaque like the Purex was.

I'm hoping they continue to make it. That was always my favorite scent.

Funny...

...How different people like different things. The last time I needed to buy dishwashing liquid, the store was out of my usual Ajax Lemon, so I said "what the hey" and picked up the Lime.

I personally won't be doing that again - my nose does not get along with it. At all.

Then, there are troublesome people like me who like a number of scents, as long as it isn't overpowering, like that awful Tide X2 I tried a couple of years ago. I can still smell THAT stench in my nightmares. But with dish detergents, I change detergent type every time I buy detergent. In part, my truly sad idea of adventure is trying different detergents. But I also get tired of the same scent and want something different.

I picked up a quart of Octagon dish detergent recently just for nostalgia. It smells just the same and years ago. Love it, and won't go back to Ajax. Didja notice over the years Ajax never went up in price but the ounces decreased? They made the bottle skinnier. Now the price is creeping up. Must be they can't figure out how to make the bottle smaller without anyone noticing.

Colgate-Palmolive is notorious for that. If their products didn't represent such good quality, I probably would have begun boycotting them long ago over it. Unfortunately, that would mean giving up a lot of brands I use, including Ajax and Palmolive bar soap, so I grit my teeth and just put up with it. But it's not the happiest relationship I've ever had with a company, trust me.
