Agitation speed question 2017 Speed queen and more!

Hey there,
Wondering if anyone can help me here. I’ve read the manual, gone to website, cannot find the answer I seek.
I’m wondering if normal eco agitation speed is any slower than heavy duty agitation speed? I’m still finding this machine to be rough on my clothes. If I use perm press which I think is a slower agitation my clothes come out very wet after final spin.

Lastly, I am experiencing the suds issue in my drainpipe despite using Tide turbo HE. I have the rubber adapter installed as well and the suds just come puffing out the small holes located on each side.

It’s been an interesting month with this new machine. Still haven’t worked out all the kinks......
But I do like how quick the cycles are.

Which model do you have? Agitation is fast on Normal Eco, Heavy Duty, Whites, and Perm Press; slow on Bulky and Delicate. Bulky cycle features slow agitation and fast spin. I have the 9 Series from 2017.

I haven't hooked up my new machine yet but just about everything I wash is pretty sturdy and pretty crummy. Shorts, socks, T shirts, towels and sheets and cleaning rags for the ladies. I haven't worn pants or a dress shirt in over a year...it's called "desert slumming".</span>

The tech sheet has the exact speeds per cycle. The timer chart cam position 4 shows high speed and position 6 shows low speed functions.
The tech sheet number of your machine is in the top right corner of the model / serial number sticker under the lid. This is sheet 203427 from my August 2017 AWN432.

Hey Joe, it's called Silicon Valley slumming in my household!

 

The standpipe suds has been an issue for Dave's daughter since she got her SQ TL a few years ago.  I think low sudsing "he" detergent might be the only solution.  The pumps on these machines must really be potent.  I remember how the water blasted out of the hose into the laundry sink from our Raytheon Amana.  The pump on the Maytag 206 that it replaced didn't move the water at anywhere near the same volume.

 

Have you felt all around the agitator and drum for any rough spots?  Alliance hasn't demonstrated the best in quality control on these machines.

for some drain applications,

an 'anti siphon valve' helps to eliminate issues of suds coming out of the standpipe....without causing siphoning from a sealed system...

I think theres mention in the install instructions of adding one if needed....

The Series 8 model has limited wash options. In particular, your washer doesn't have the bulky option which would have the gentler agitate with a higher spin. Permanent press has a fast agitate during the wash cycle. The information on your washer should be on pages 14 and 15 of your manual. You might want to use the delicate cycle with a heavy soil level and when it finishes, run a spin only to get more water out.

I do use HE detergent. Tide turbo HE.

By rough on clothes I mean pilling of items and things look stretched out. These were clothes that didn’t look this way when I washed them in my old machine. I even separate all my work clothes more meticulously than I had with my old GE hydro wave. With the old GE you could never ever leave strings untied on hoodies, pj bottoms etc and never leave zippers undone.

It does a great job on my husbands carhart and dickies work pants and gildan brand cotton tees.

To be honest I never even knew there was a series 9. These machines are not easy to find in Canada. So when I found one at a local appliance store I grabbed it. There was no mention to me of a higher up model. Wow if the series 8 cost 1450$ Canadian just imagine what the series 9 would cost!
