My tear down of the Amana ALW880QAW discussed in Thread# 22352 is going well. I must admit I have never removed a washing machine agitator before. Might someone know how to do this so I can replace the leaky tub seal? Thanks in advance!

Look, if you make it down to the leaky seal and want to try what I did, which by the way is still working six months later, fill in the wore our seal area with liqid nails and allow it to cure for 48 hours before ressembly. It stays flexible and acts most likely better than a factory seal. just a suggestion that worked for me. i hate that repair job. I wouldnt do that for a customer who demanded factory parts, just for myself.

I've scraped two higher-end 2003 Amana models back in 2005 because of bad seals. It seemed to me that replacing the seal was complicated because of what is on top of it(the order of the rings, spring, and washers).
