Well I went to my nearest aldi’s today and I saw that they have the there own small and mighty so of course I have bought some! Well I must add that I’m most impressed I don’t get suds lock from the small amount of liquid I use and its clean rinsing no large mounts of bubbles during the first rinse like the small and mighty does. Its £1.80 for 980mls, which does 28 wash loads. I have never had any problems with aldi’s washing liquid at times it has performed better than some of the leading brands! I will be buying it again…. One happy customer

"Slim Giant" I like it!!

I've never tried Aldi stuff - I tried Tesco's Small & Mighty rip-off - it was rubbish and it stinks (horribly) beyond belief, even when the laundry is dry.

It's weird how even Aldi have these concentrated liquids and yet, P&G UK still haven't jumped on the bandwagon.

Those bottles look nice & sleek, something I might try... and they're so cheap!
I experimented few days ago with Coop liquid detergent, one of the shopbrand around here, it was real soap based formula, without phosfates and was rated the best cleaning liquid detergent according to "Altroconsumo", the Italian Consumer Reports /Wich, the statement never could have been further from true... it does clean, but it took me to run the rinse cycles 2 time (8 rinses in total) and still stuff smelled like cheap soapbars and came out really un-soft... awful, I'm sticking with old safe brand!

Is the BIO formula the one with enzymes on it?

Aldi

I wish our Aldi's here in the US had the 2X we still have the Tandil regular big bottles and no HE. Do use the Tandil Osygen dry bleach and stain remover 1/4 the cost of OxyClean.

spoodles

P and G uk have launched Ariel Power and Fairy power, concentrated liquid detergent, my local somerfield have had it for a couple of weeks.

sparkymarky

Its at my local somerfield in gorgie in edinburgh, its the only place ive seen it. I havent tried it as I don't use P&G products, had a sniff though and they smell the same as the regular Ariel and Fairy liquids. They also have the new range of Lenor and the new Bold liquitabs

Thanks Paul.

Will have to go and take a look. My partners parents live behind Murrayfield stadium so next time we go round to visit I will have to pop down to Gorgie and take a look.

Will let you know if I see it in any other supermarkets. Iam going to give the Aldi stuff a go, getting bored of persil small and mighty!!! Hows the Speed Queen btw? Would love to own that machine!!

Hey Paul.

Thanks. Im also going to look out for the Aldi liquid. They don't have it yet in our local Aldis's as was in the other night and was looking at the detergents (as you do).

The speed queen is working great so far with no problems. Its a great machine but I wish it did just a little bit longer on the wash time and an extra rinse.

I have the opposite problem with my machine....I love it also but it takes forever!!! Washes really well but most of the cycles are at least an hour and a half.

James,

As I said to you the other day, very interesting. :)

I must say I like the bottles.

I just wonder what they smell like. :) I also wonder what they taste like! hehe ;)

Let us know how you get on with these, though I’m especially pleased at the good rinsing results because rinsing is a real bugbear for me with some detergents. What’s the point of washing properly and then not rinsing properly? :)

Regards,

Carl :)

Trader Joe's

Trader Joe's is a discount priced, somewhat upscale or gourmet chain in the USA. It has been around 40+ years, started in California, and since I think the early 1990s is owned by Aldi. They sell their own house brand of detergent but it doesn't resemble the photos you posted.

Carl! :)

Hey Mate

Its great to see you posting :).

I want to try this but REALLY cant justify any more detergent buying at the mo!

Ive not used Aldi detergent but was very impressed by the easy iron concentrate :)

If you want proper rinsing we need to find you a 80s Hoover lol!

Anyone......Thump (NorthernMary Falls off his chair)...

(...and falls deep into a pile of freshly laundered towels, resurfacing to the smell of April Freshness!) LOL.

Never tried the Aldi laundry detergents, but I have tried their dishwasher products.

Their tablets were okay, nothing spectacular. Their dishwasher cleaner is virtually identical to Finish version, but you get 2 for almost the same price as Finish.
