Al's Miele load

We always talk about bobloads, well here is an Al load in his Miele at home. Everything comes out clean. This is a very tupicalload for me. My man and I cook at home once or twice a week. The rest of the time it is primarily wine glasses and coffee mugs and the occasional glass or bowl. Oftn the machine is only ran once a week or even less frequantly and Iput everything in with no pre-rinsing. This load was two meals representing our cultures. He cooked empanadas and I cooked shephards pie from the leftover filling.

Nice andclean. It is easy to load once you get used to it. I am a bit anal in case you have not guessed already. No jokes please.

Top rack

Nice and full. The saucepot looks like it has water on it, but it is a reflection. This machine has the turbothermic drying and there is rerely any moisture left.

fully loaded including the food processor bowl with mashed potatoes residue. Yes those are fish on the martini glasses. We made mojito martinis while preparing dinner. Thoes are his, as ithe crappy T-Fall frying pan. I have some of the best cookware made, yet he will pull out the stuff from Target.

Better view of the bottom rack. I always leave the tall glass insert in. Ther is almost always martini glasses or wine glasses in the load and as you can see here, low ball glasses stack nicely. No we are not alchoholics, the small glasses are used for oragne juice in the morning - we must have our antioxidants.

Here she is. This is a late 90's model. Again from the Miele showroom. I have had it installed since 2000 or 2001. No problems whatsoever. I do use the salt and rince aid. I have also beenusing the new Miele tabs and love them. Someone will ask, I used the Sani-Cycle. The older Miele models only had a Pots and Pans cycle on the TOL model and this is one or two models below. Here is a good Miele quiz for you. This is a special model, can anyone tell what is special about it?

A load to be proud of

I am well known for my loads. I also get a lot of grief over my displays. I have a tendancy to stack everything up when I unload the machine and admire it before I put it away.

Miele stuff

Thanks Andy. I know I have almost everything that Miele makes between the Lab and home. I really love the coffee system and the steam oven. The rotary iron is very nice too. Of course the vacs are awesome. I really believe that the washers and dishwashers are the best you can buy and I have product tested almost all brands

More great pics, Allen! That is a beautiful machine. I think the top rack for tableware/utensils would be a leap of faith for me, I just can't wrap my mind around using it, but everyone says how great they are. Terry and I are going to the Miele dealer on Monday to "play" for a little while so we'll check them out closely!

Okay, so what is special about this model? Or did I miss it, and it was answered above?

The special dishwasher

It is a 600 series which has a 2 inch shorter wash tank. It works well with true European cabinetry as the door is shorter too, thus you can have a high toekick. It is also listed as ADA compliant. I am not sure why it meets this standard. I chose it because it was the only model left after the showroom remodel that had a time remaining countdown - a feature important to me, the controling bastart that I am

I was impressed with how clean such a large load turned out. How long did this particular cycle take? Also, does your machine use a fan to circulate heated air throughout the tub in drying the items?

I used the sani cycle which has a 150 wash and a 170 final rinse. This model does not have a pots and pans cycle. It does take 2 hours and between 12 and 42 minutes depending on the time of the year. Keep in mind I am in the San Fernando Valley and my pipes are not insulated so the outside temperature and thus the water temperature fluctuates widely. Incidently so does the size and composition of the load. This model does have the TurboThermic drying which is fan assisted, but no heat is added during the dry. The massive stainless steel interior provides the heat that it has absorbed during the cycle.

The Miele I have holds a ton of dishes as well. I couldnt believe how much I could fit into it. I noticed that in the silverware pic that yours isnt split. I have the split one and I do have to say I like it. It makes the middle rack even more flexible for tall items. I am loving the silverware tray. I too was thinking like Greg....what a pain in the ass this is going to be to load but I can tell you its not that bad. In fact loading it with the tray allows the silverware to really get scrubbed. No more rust spots as well since the water gets everything and it has its own dedicated wash arm. With mine the arms alternate but not like it does in a Frigidaire. It starts out with just the bottom arm then it switches to the bottom and then top and then top and middle. Its very random and it has have all 3 arms going at once. One thing did notice is that the heater which is connected to the upper arm heats the water in the tube and when the temp is right it will send the water out over to the top arm and it heats the water FAST that way. The Pots and Pans cycle heats to a whopping 171 degrees...nothing but shine after that cycle. I have used the Sensor Cycle and it does a good job. Normal does a fantastic job. I have been trying out a new cycle each time I use the machine.
In a nutshell I love my Miele.
