I absolutely cannot believe this, but a few minutes ago I got the following e-mail from a guy I know who works for a vendor of mine:
ARE THERE ANY PARTS ON OLD WASHING MACHINES THAT ARE WORTH MONEY AND HARD TO FIND? I BOUGHT 7 ACRES OF LAND AND THERE IS ABOUT 100 OLD WASHING MACHINES ON THERE. THE BODYS ARE MESSED UP BUT THE INSIDE PARTS LOOK PRETTY GOOD.
I wrote back and asked if he had pictures or knew what he had. I got this reply:
NO BUT I AM GOING UP THERE THIS WEEKEND AND I WILL HAVE MY WIFE GET SOME PICTURES AND I WILL GET MODELS NUMBERS AND WHATEVER INFO THERE IS ON THEM.
So, now I am totally distracted and have visions of a mini-Aberdeen. The guy is going to check out the machines and take pics with the brand new camera he got for Christmas. I told him to DISPOSE OF NOTHING and that I may be taking a truckload in Charlotte! He's even going to try to catalog the units.
Can you believe it!!!??? 100 machines!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It will be a neat thing if we find anything of value there to us. The guy as I said works for a vendor of mine, and has been helpful in loading a few washers that I found in their area in with shipments they've made for me coming to Charlotte. If we dribble and drabble the machines out of there, I may be able to get them to Charlotte for free as I have a few already.
I'll keep you all posted and am MOST HAPPY to share what is there should any of it be decent. I have the usual visions of old Kenmores, Frigidaires, GEs, etc. from the 60s and 70s, but more likely the 100 are more recent stuff, but we'll see and I'll let you all know. Think good thoughts....
