Well I did warn about Gain detergent didn't I? *LOL*

As for dryer use with long cycles, one assumes you meant condenser and of course things take longer to dry when not extracted to death. Just got our bill for last month which included using the Lavatherm. In short; won't be happening again soon, and if it does laundry will be spun to within an inch of it's life.

I'm running a cycle with Gain (Green Bottle, Reqular Scent), Line TWO , 2 Rinses, and maybe Tumble Drying...

Even overdosed, in soft water, This Gain is really rinsing out well.. I kinda like this so far.

Now that I really do think about it, I recall Snuggle being extremely scented. Oh God, I was invited over to a neigbhorhood gathering, and the scent was horrid...

I don't think, I've ever smelled anything so overwhelming, seriously, I'm sure I sound like some one making this up, or exaggerating, but, the scent was EXTREMELY strong. I think I sat down in there living room for a good 10-15 minutes, and could still smell it (isn't that supposed to go away after a few minutes of being in the room??)

I was eventually invited into the Kitchen, and after a few moments of being in there, lost track of that scent..

Someday, I'm gonna take a sniff test again of Snuggle. It's been forever since I've touched a bottle...

And.. I'm disappointed.

The scent is extremely light. There's even less scent than if I had just used Tide and Downy, together

I really hate this machine sometimes. I mean, it's really good if you have sensitive skin that it's rinsing out all that detergent, and scent, but still, what if you actually want some aroma therapy?

Oh one, can only fantasize off those commercials...

I feel like I'm doing something wrong...

I mean, I'd like to think, that my washer is pretty similar to those you guys are all using, I just don't see what could be the difference.

I'm rinsing in Freezing Cold Tap Water, I'd like to think that, this would cause less of it to be rinsed out, but it seems like more is..

My water is however really soft, which, I guess could do a considerable dent on helping to rinse... But, oh, just..

What am I doing wrong?

Well, I guess you don't do much wrong, perhaps your machine is just too good at rinsing. You should be happy about that, because a lot of people complain about machines that don't rinse well.

So, I guess if you really want laundry with a scent, use a heavy scented fabric softener.

Yes I do, Said it before (said it too much actually ) I LOVE USA Tide, and am not happy that P&G won't give us the option to buy it here (don't get me wrong, like Ariel too, but love Tide). As long as I throw in some huge bottles of Purex too, the cost per wash can work out cheaper than UK detergents?

No problems so far, I do only half dose though, and it washes great. As you'll probably know, they have the 1 2 3 line dosing. I only ever go halfway to line 1 whether it be powder or liquid.

Don't know if this is because I have the Samsung Eco Bubble, which fills the machine full of air for even more bubbles

The Purex is really sudsy even with a small dose, but does rinse ok.

I have Tide and Downy "Simple Pleasures" in pink bottles with the Rose and Violet fragrance. Is this the fragrance you are talking about? There is maybe one use left in each. I loved the fragrance, but after the first bottle, it was not available anymore. Does anyone know what happened to this fragrance? It is so old, I used it in the TLs because it is not HE. Is there anything here in the US that smells like this scent now? It should have been a hit with the floral explosion crowd unless it was not tropical enough. It was nice for the sheets. In fact, I think that was the only thing I used it for. So what if it made the bed smell like a bordello?

Well over all this is a wonderful thread. It shows that Germany seems to have some wonderful detergents that everyone wants to have :-D

Okay, I admit: I am a scent addict. It just can't be enough. There are a few softeners that give so much scent, that even I would say that you have to pay attention how much there goes in the drawer. That would be Lenor with the 7x more freshness. Or the Lenor with Febreze freshness. They are really really strong.

That detergents change in the direction that scent becomes more and more important is that there are so many people who started complaining about the fact that their laundry comes off the washer smelling like mold. Well, instead of doing the laundry another way the industry has picked that point and brought the scented detergents to the market. Lenor (Downy in the US) was born of that idea. The main point and nearly only one is that: Scent. They don't advertise with the cleaning power, it is all about scent. Their powdered version for colored laundry was ranked very last place in the last detergent test. It failed at all levels. Well, they never said it would perform good. They just said, the laundry would smell fantastic.

Yeah, it's all about the scent. Remember that Spee (a Henkel brand) detergent that claimed you could leave wet clothes in the shut washer for twelve hours without them getting smelly? :-/

It seems P&G has discontinued the "Simple Pleasures" line for both Tide and Downy. Will keep my eyes peeled if one sees any NOS laying about and give you a heads up.

Can you get Lenor "Breath of Fresh Air" in Germany? I've linked it below, I love a lot of scent too, although of late, have been really toning it down

But from what I have used, and I have used a lot (not all though) the Breath of Fresh Air has to be the strongest one in the UK, if not the planet. It's so strong - I washed bed sheets in them, and nearly considered taking them off as it was too much.

Correction:
I've linked it, but it's not the Breath of Fresh Air that's coming up on any of our store websites, it's showing "Ocean Breeze" which weirdly coincidently I have just bought that version this week, which is a completely different scent. I wonder if Ocean Breeze has replaced Breath of Fresh Air?

Both the older versions of Tide and Cheer (Colourguard) in one's stash leave a horrible white residue in the stainless steel sink my washers drain into. That darn Cheer detergent totally dulled the beautiful and until then mint aluminum tub of my Hoover TT. Nothing to date has been able to reverse that damage.

In addition items line dried after washing with either of the above feel "crunchy" unless one uses a good sour in the final rinse. You can also see the "cloudy" water being wrung from fabrics as they a spun in the spin dryer.
