Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support AutomaticWasher.org:

Wow...we love the site like it is, and it's rather apropos that the one making the squawk was the only person who's ever said something we considered rude in reply to one of our posts. This is obviously a case of "Consider the source.&quot <br
While we aren't part of the "inner circle" around here, we truly enjoy the humor and love that are so abundant here, and of course, the vintage eye-candy that seems to spring from out of nowhere to delight us. We also try to contribute by pointing out goodies for sale when we find 'em. We got our Maytags because of y'all, and our KDS-20, as well. Don't change a damn thing, Mr. Robert, sir. ;-)

Don't taunt me with the mentionof that fabulous Whirlpoo

It's the only front loader I'll ever want, and only because of the jetstream <br
You said Ugh but I hope you laughed <br
Thanks, Shan

Wait.....what am i still doing here. I'm going where the grass is grayer. Can't you guys take an I'm quitting threat seriously.

ok~ lets try and put a positive spin on this shall we?

Robert~ you have my full and complete admiration for the time and effort you put into AW.org
Erik~ while I don't agree with most of your points in the email, I do believe your intent was not to insult Robert. I admire your courage in coming out and taking ownership of your words. I think Robert may have been more peeved with the tone of your letter that he was with some of your suggestions
Keven~ Your postings are always so insightful and I learn so much from them. Thank You
Heather~ I am glad you feel comfortable here, but please don't think of yourself as a minority. We are first and foremost human beings and age or race or gender should never be a factor in determining one's worth here
MikeD~ Your posts crack me up. Sometimes I don't get your humor like in the above posting, but your presense especially at times like this is needed
Bundtboy~ what would AW.org be without Bob and his bundtcakes <br <br
So my point is that yes, Robert is right. The people on this site add to the fun and excitement that is AW.org. We are different people in many ways. We come from different lifestyles,socio-economical backgrounds and have varying political opinions
But first and foremost, we are all human beings that happen to love appliances, vintage or modern.I believe in the end, this is what bonds us <br
Have a great day everyone...=)

Thanks to Robert (and Fred Nelson):

There may be those with reservations about this or that around here, but I have to say that I've enjoyed both the sense of community here, and the practical advice. Same goes for Vacuumland. Thanks to the info and tips on both sites, I have replaced several problematic modern appliances with durable, reliable vintage ones. I know where to get parts and supplies for anything that might go wrong, and I know who I can turn to for repair advice. I'm more self-sufficient than before; I do not have to worry that the mysterious ailments of new appliances will cost me Big Bucks, because I can handle most things that could happen to my vintage appliances myself <br
This site and Vacuumland have saved me money, made me friends, and brought me peace of mind. You can't ask more than that of some HTML, or the intentions of these sites' creators. Thanks Robert, and thanks to Fred as well.

Shane, your usual razor intellect is off today.

Washertalk, whom I like except for his scraggly puritan beard, which is shaped like a turnip, and who is really funny, says in his email that this site is mainly for 50 and 60 year olds and :" If this is your primary audience, please let me know. I will find greener grass elsewhere. " Hence the satirical: I'm going where the grass is grayer, etc, <br
People always threaten to leave, and then they stay which always amuses me <br
No one's going to stop anyone from leaving.
Why would anyone want to leave?
Younger guys think the theat is meaningful; older guys know better. No one cares <br
I hope Washertalk stays.

I vote for D.

I know what it takes to maintain a site and applaud you for what you do. I know though, someone is always going to bitch. I just let them bitch. They get tired and go away <br
As far as the financial aspect is concerned why don't you set up a PayPal ID that those who want to could send money into. You could get a debit card against that ID and use the funds anyway you wish <br
It's just my 2 cents. I am grateful for what you do. I am on the site at least once a day and I enjoy living through all of you with these amazing collections.

Endora, my dear sister,

Enchantra and I have just come from an emergency meeting of The Witches Council. There is some very real concern about your attitude. Artichoke? Thats the best you can come up with? You've done far worse to Durwood, and he's mishpuchah (sp)!! Are you getting soft in your (expletive deleted) age? <br
I'd suggest, dear sister, you come up with something a little more, how shall I say it, WITCHY, for the cretin of whom you write, lest the council bat you 'round the earholes with a soggy broom <br
With love, your sister
Hagath <br
(If it ain't broke, don't fix it!!! It's the only part of the site this half of perc-o-prince reads, and I thoroughly enjoy it! Chuck)

Now wait a minute everyone....let's not forget what Missy Endora did to our old friend Chad not too long ago.....she didn't screw around with vegetables....she made him disappear!!! She ain't no Esmerelda yet!!

Robert, <br
I have found that negative feedback or an incident has a way of really snowballing in the mind, I call it dark snowballing. (I know that has another meaning) <br
I think we tend to use a negative incident as a convenient place to put a lot of other saved up stuff in it, especially if you are a rational and accepting human being, that stores some anger, and we all do,to be social. <br
You have pretty much done the right thing by expressing yourself regarding this incident of conflict, and conflict is not a bad thing in the right forum. <br
Never forget what Cher said when she won her Oscar and then third Grammy
"I am most appreciative of my fans, becasue they sustain me. But my career has not come without it's critics. Fuck em, I still have a job and they don't". <br
You do a great job here <br
Phi

"we tend to use a negative incident as a convenient pla

Ain't that the truth. <br
Negativity tends to breed upon itself <br
Sometimes one just needs a fresh point of view or other positive input to get back on track <br <br

Why Reinvent the Wheel!?

Robert <br
This Web site, along with the countless exchange of thoughts and ideas, is way too good to be tossed. As a savvy Internet surfer, word processor, and overall computer user, there is always something up here worth the read. therefore, anything that I could honestly gripe about is just skipped over, plain and simple as that. Therefore, for those who have such a petty and frivolous axe to grind: What kind of cheese would you like with your whine!? Very rarely do I get into politics, religion, or social issues, but am a rather focused and purposed participant up here who enjoys reading about classic washers, dryers, dishwashers, and other old appliances, along with vintage radio and television ads. Of course, as stated in some other threads, I am most preferable to collecting compatible audio and video downloads of washer demos, detergent commercials, and related bordom killing files. By the same token, I also don't mind pitching in some relevant and other off the beaten path kinds of stories, usually to brighten peoples days or to enlighten some. Otherwise, I am not a purposefully controvercial character or one who intentionally stirs up a hornet's nest. Only other thing I might strongly suggest is to work on making the Web site more compliant with Web accessibility standards. Then, too, it's not an easy and efficient thing to label every other picture with alt tags. So I rely on whatever other list users happen to describe with each photo. Other than that, keep on maintaining those playable audio and video file collections and try to add more so we can collect them for our own bordom killing times, especially when winter is fast approaching and we are always in need to get through the blues and shorter days. I myself tend to be more like a bear, a scrooge, and a grinch than a "holly jolly elf" through the cold hibernation season of winter. Again, unless you are absolutely sure that the Web site needs a major league overhaul, don't be bothered by those who treat this Web resource like it's never good enough, but just make what we already have even better. In otherwords, always room for improvement on account of you, me, and the rest of us who are involved up here <br
Many thanks <br

Endora's spel

Turn him over your knee Robert and give him a good SPANKING and tell him to go play in his own sand box if he does not like yours. Post the photos for all to see....

There is NOTHING wrong with just the way it is.
