I BROKE A MIELE TODAY!!!!!

Went to ~Comet to check out the new Miele Komfort models they have in and i broke one. Tried to locate filter door tool to open the drum and being eyed up by a salesperson I tried to locate the hinge of the filter door so i could push it in and open it quickly. Like breaking the balance if you know what i mean.

And the whole filter door got wedged in the recess it sits in. Have to say these machines are very plasticky and the door whilst being strong the plastic cover on it is very flimsy IMHO. I left Comet after the sales person tried to make me buy a MEE LAY as he said it lol although to make it look as though i was not a trouble maker I said I was weighing up between a Miele and something else costing less. He pointed me to a £250 Bosch on offer which i had to laugh at and told him about Jons mums (didnt mention names just said somebody i knew) he backed off instantly so maybe staff training and customer comments are being utilised etc.

I told him more about Miele than he knew which was funny.

well for my night off things are not going well. burnt my treat of a pizza whilst posting stuff here so it looks like my bottle of Sainsburys 2005 Corbieres (bargain at £2.99, nice fruity, easy drinking red) will nourish me tonight, cant be arsed cookin anything else, who wants a glass??????

Hey Nick i'll have that glass of wine. red is my fav. Your soo norty breaking a Mee Lay! but hey we all gotto break something in comet sometime in our lives. I'm quite good at Servis dispenser drawer flaps coming off in my hand. opps. well i have to say cheap plastic gets everywhere even on a Miele, just cant be avoided. I hope you didn't go as red as your bottle of wine when u broke it lol

Red wine is my tipple but i do like cider too, no not white lightning lol although the way funds are going it may well be soon. i like Hereford type real ciders etc. Old Rosie, Merrydown is a good one as is Dagan a celtic cider thats very salty but refreshing. i have a bottle of scrumpy jack somewhere waiting to be chilled and drunk too lol.

OMG cider slurp slurp. I'll have to take u to my fav pub in soouth Devon where we holiday n try the local cider. Its quite something I can tell you. would strip the metal off a Miele i'm sure. Also I tried an organic cider once but ended up tripping out and seeing buses coming towrds me, lol. Scrumpy jacks lovely as is Strongbow but you can't beat some local products for shear bravery. Yumm now i'm gagging for some n the drinks rack only has Baileys n sherry in it. oh well , sigh, another time maybe

What kind of a Miele Dryer was it? Have they gone down in Quality? If that is the case, maybe i need a drink as well!!

The new W1000 series is quite a bit plasticky for a Miele. Though better than equivalent "plastic" Bosch or AEG models, I certianly don't like the feel of them as much as the "classic" models. Still the same mechanism inside though so I wouldn't worry about internal components.

I think Miele will address the plasticky issue - they tend to be good on correcting and developing like that.

crikey hijacked my own thread there! Not bad from someone who generally dosnt drink. Well yes Jon hopefully miele will address this as im sure they will. MIELES ROCK and im looking forward to the day i receive mine, lol. The door was the one thing that put me off. I would be scared of bashing the hoover into it or something and cracking the plastic. And im not too fussed on having that protective heat cover on doors as i like to check on boil washes the water does heat up. Keeps me in my comfort zone. Although having said that i know you can "smell" a boilwash in the air i like to sense both. Lol im CRaZy nick.

Miele Not Perfect? Noooooooooo! ;-)

Nick, are you telling me that something with the Miele badge on it is not perfect for once?! ;-) Noooooooooooo!

I need to get a new tumble dryer in the next few weeks, and it’s a choice between a Miele (we have just bought a Miele Premier 520) and a Zanussi. I know that’s a big difference. It’s just that we only use a dryer for about a third of the year every other day. However, we don’t want to get a Zanussi and say, “Wish we’d got a Miele.”

We love the new Miele washing machine, and we are not stingy with money, but we’re not sure we need a Miele. However, we are Mielemanics now, and I am not sure we could settle for anything less now – we’ve been spolit! ;-) LOL

I’ll be asking you lot for advice on which tumble dryer to get! I’ve already asked Jon. His answer: Miele. That’s my answer, too, at the moment.

BUT i do rate my old Zanussi Condensor which me ex kept along with the washer as settlemnt for the split (bitch) lol.

Was the basic model available at about £220 usually.
We got it in a Powerhouse sale in November for £199.

I never understand why people dislike tumble dryers so much and dont have them.
Life would not be the same without one.
