I have a 26 yo Kenmore washer/dryer set that has worked flawlessly. 6 yrs ago I moved into a home with an attic vent. The dryer can't keep up now and I'm constantly cleaning out duct work and replacing broken heating elements and burnt connecting wires. I'm afraid I'm going to burn the house down at worst and need a new dryer soon at best. I'm reading about these full size heat pump dryers made by Whirlpool. Easy on clothes, super efficient and better all around than condenser ventless dryers. Wondering if anyone has experience with these before taking the plunge. Understand dry cycles take a bit longer and requires more frequent cleaning.

My next door neighbors have one of those Whirlpools. It was way more pricey than a regular dryer and does take up to 3 hours to dry a load of towels. It has a big jug that has to be emptied after every load plus 2 or 3 filters to be cleaned. They did notice a slight drop in their electric bill. Not something I would be interested in owning.

Whirlpool offers a couple of heat pump dryers. Two are "compact" size that offers drum size of 4.3 cu. ft. I do not recommend these. They also offer a couple of 7.4 cu ft. dryers that are "hybrid" heat pump dryers. These at least offer selecting pure heat pump mode (Eco) and Speed mode that increases heat level. I've included the link for the user manual. Read through the manual. Because of the virus shut down,s production and inventory has suffered for many of their various dryer models. The two models are WHD862CHC and WHD560CHW
